Confused efforts.

Sounds to me like you are doing the right things with regards to doing test mixes.
You will get there in the end.
Once you have the right amounts of custard and vanilla sorted you will be away and from then a series of gradual improvements as you get more complex.
My mixes are all baccy mixes and baccy + other stuff mixes that have evolved over the last eighteen months it took a bit of experimenting at first to get an acceptable single flavour baccy but since then almost every mixing session involves a tweak or two that leads to an improvement to the point where I am very happy with my mixes, that now involve 6 to 9 flavours.
 
Can I get your ginger custard recipe? It sounds lush

Chuck a mix of capella custard, a nice rounded vanilla, a smooth sexy cream, wee dash of Horchata, some Gingerbread and a smidge of Gingifer, maybes a whiff of spicy biscuit. Put the bottle in a toy cat and give to a Jack Russell to shake like fury. Leave in cupboard, with the odd Jack Russell shoogling. 2 months later - Et Voila....



Or something like that.....:D
