Copper or Silicone wire?

which is best, i know solid copper is better than stranded but is silicone better than stranded copper, thinking of the flexibility of the silicone in a tight area.

Silicone is what the stranded copper is sheathed in. It still has a copper conductor in it.

Sent from a phone. Probably.

Silicone insulated wire is designed for heat tolerance, it doesn't melt back like PVC when soldering.

As it happensI was building a box mod today, now waiting for the epoxy to cure.
Tried using solid core copper .... it is a nightmare to solder, have to use way more heat than normal.
Back from my LED torch modding days, I have a load of silicone and Teflon sleeved wires.
Both silicone and Teflon are heat resistant to give that cleaner look. Silicone is more flexible than
PVC or Teflon but Teflon is more rigid and tougher (make sure your wire strippers are sharp ;)

Silicone sleeved wire can be found on ebay.
For Teflon, I use this seller

navships on eBay

Just had a look, he has some nice silver Teflon sleeved wire but $$$

My box mod is"wired" with copper brake pipe, was an utter bastard to solder, but the performance was worth it. I get just 0.1V drop all the way to 0.3 ohms and under 0.2V down to 0.1 ohms.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up for me, i'll probably use the silicone in future cos my last mod was a bit tight for room and the wire was a bitch to get right.

wow thats pretty good Chegs is that with 18650's or lipo packs?

Wow.

I read the title thinking "This dude's gonna kill himself trying to use copper as resistance wire....and how's he gonna get a current through silicone"

The box in question has since been rewired with solid core copper taken from some very very thick multi core earth cable I was given by a mate. To insulate this bare copper wire, I used silicon fuel line from a model shop. The other advantage to this wire, is its so thick that once soldered to the lipo cell terminals and the back of the 510, it offers additional security for the double sided sticky tape that holds the cells in position.
