As seems to be the norm now, you've chosen - or been sold - a direct to lung kit. As a new vaper you should, IMHO, be using a mouth to lung kit with higher nicotine. More closely replicates smoking, provides more throat hit and is far less likely to make you cough.

My advice would be to buy a mtl tank to go on your Smok mod. Your mod is 22mm so will accommodate most decent mtl tanks.

And whoever sold you the kit you've got needs a good kick in the balls.

I agree with @Mitz. Try a mtl tank, with 12 mg nicotine juice. This will give you the throat hit and you will be more likely to stay of the cigs. There is plenty of time to experiment once you have kicked the habit.

You'll build a greater immunity as you stay off the smokes longer and your throat starts to heal up. Some people can just vape straight away without the coughing(i'm one of the lucky ones, takes quite alot to make me cough), for others there's a tickle and associated cough that will subside with time.

Probably wouldn't hurt to shop around a bit, try visiting a few different vape stores and trying out different vapes, the airier tanks might be more likely to make you cough(but it could also be the inverse of that). My mum is an evening smoker and morning/day time vaper, for her the airer DTL tanks tend to set off that throat tickle that makes her cough, but she also doesn't particularly like tanks that are too tight tigher(restricted), but is less prone to spluttering all over the place with a more restricted airflow.

For the sake of £20 you could take a punt on a starter MTL kit (ask a store to let you try one), you might find that makes all the difference(feels a more like smoking).
