This juice doesn't mess around. It's not as bitey as other menthols I've tried but all the same it's still pretty intense. Three blasts on it and I'm feeling totally alert and oh man, I can smell EVERYTHING, I don't think my sinuses have ever been this clear!
I should probably have prefaced this by saying that I'd given up on menthol's a while back, something about them always seemed to be a bit over the top and the vape was just too harsh on my throat. I never smoked menthol cigarettes but I've got a thing for mints so it was kind of a shame. In the end I stopped buying them and just about managed to get on with my life . Then this pops up and well, having recently gotten onto the Breaking bad bandwagon I couldn't resist giving it a try. I'm glad I did.
To me the flavour is really close to mint tictacs, so on the inhale it's more of a cooling spearmint than the menthol I'm used to, but it's definitely got an icy kick to it. That kick builds into an intense rush of full body mintyness that delivers an incredibly satisfying and cooling throathit that I'm really enjoying. If you think of the taste you get when you inhale whilst sucking a Trebor extra strong mint, it's that - exactly that. And it lasts a while after vaping too.
To be fair It's a simple flavour but one that's really well put together and I don't know how Kraken have managed to get the minty/menthol mix so right where others just don't, seems to me they've got a bit of magic going on in the lab because the Squid Ink I got from them is similarly exceptional.
The only weird thing is that I seem to be getting pretty wired from it. It's my usual 18mg strength but something about it feels much stronger. Could be the longer pulls I'm taking on it (or the fact I'm leaning towards chain vaping on it), or maybe it's something psychosomatic making me feel like I've had some blue meth, bitch, but I think I'll get some 12mg next time around to calm things down a little bit.
Vapour production is good, definitely on par with other 60/40 juices I've tried, tastes great on the exhale too. Is it an all day vape? Probably not, but it'll definitely been in my carry around drip kit for the foreseeable.
