I can never get above 50w on my Cthulhu's, i have 4, all clones, 2 were bought from fasttech and 2 from 3fvape black silver

the 2 from fasttech have currently got SS 316L coils (8 wraps of 28AWG at 3mm diameter), those are coming in at 0.47Ω on the dual deck, i cant vape them 50w i get dry hits, i can prob vape them at 45w with caution, but not chain vape, at 40w the second chain vape is verging on a dry hit, but if i put it into TC mode, i can vape all day at 150°C, locked resistance at 0.47Ω



the other 2 have Kanthal in them (6 wraps of 24AWG at 3mm diameter), those are coming in at 0.25Ω, anything more than 3 vapes at 40w and its dry hitting



my eliquid is from Dragons Rise so its all VG/PG 70/30, but i have used liquid from vjuice which is VG/PG 80/20 at 30w without issue

so 35w for me is the max i will go for a decent chain vape with the Cthulhu's, 1 vape at a time (1 long vape, 6 seconds and up) 40w

the 2 from fasttech (SS coils) have the got the juice control rings still inside, the 2 from 3fvape (Kanthal coils) have the juice rings removed

Was lucky I found this, you need to do the @johnnyace thing to catch my attention

Those builds look similar to mine just mine are snipped to the length of the wick ring & I get the same results with the dry hits

I don't know if you read my thread but Vaping with Vic started this He threw in a 0.70ohm build, wicked it in no time & chain vapes it at 50 watts with no dry hits. Here's the video, at about 16 minutes he wicks it



I've emailed Cthulhu Mod asking for how they suggest wicking & sent them pics the other night & while I was at it burrowed a good gap between the wick & wick ring. Still the same results

he is using 0.38mm (26AWG?) kanthal, i don't use that amount of cotton in my builds and i don't cut the cotton that short, maybe that's where we are going wrong, if i get time later ill try that build, but it prob will be tomorrow before i do

Yeah 26 awg. He does seem to use loads, I tried as best I could to replicate his wicking, tried more cotton, less cotton, longer cotton & shorter cotton & still the same :/

Did you give it another go?
