Hi all, thanks so much for all of your help! I have been a week smoke free!! (Apart from one drag on Friday night after a few drinks that tasted gross!!) my vape is working well and I love the different flavours! My only issue!!! My family seem to think that vaping is just as bad as smoking! They won’t let me vape in front of them and I feel quite down that they are not cheering from the roof tops that I haven’t had a fag! I know it’s my journey but last night my mum said I am a non smoker until I quite the vape! Urghh has anyone had this issue before? I feel like I have achieved so much but no one else is happy for me! Helppp!

Ignore the ignorant and ignorance (i know its your parents) and stand tall and proud.

Family's can be a strange bunch so don't be so hung up on what they think you know your doing the right thing and where all happy for you [emoji5] making it through the first week is the hardest part so well done and it will be a month then a year before you know it [emoji6]

Well done. Most folk that are anti vaping get their info from the likes of the Daily Hate.
Keep it up. :D

Take no notice of em mate you are doing really well we are all behind you here.....:2thumbsup:..........

Plenty support and cheerleading available in here. We can probably even get someone to put on a mini skirt and jump about with pom poms if required :D

its not easy @Bec1985 when family dont back you up when someone starts vaping.
for every step foward we go with good news on vaping we take 5 steps back with every fake article posted in the papers especially the daily mail. these fake articles are usually debunked within a few days with the real evidence but as ive said all along, once its been in the papers or posted on the internet it stays there and we weekly get asked questions from worried people who have read said reports. the worst so far is the popcorn lung fiasco.
not easy to explain to people unless they read lots of technical reports with pages and pages of words that go above most peoples heads.

so in simple terms, show them these pictures and ask your family do they think cancer uk or the nhs would back e cigs if there was even the slightest chance they were going to be bad for us.

Thanks so much! I have done quite a lot of research on this and it’s so confusing! I feel so much better though so I suppose that is all that matters! The best feeling is not that worry that I need to buy cigs in every shop in case I run out! I went to Sainsbury’s today and went to the cig point without even thinkin! I was like nope I don’t need this anymore lol! What a nice feeling! Thanks so much for all of the support this is a great forum when you don’t get support from family and friends x
