What's new

Decent first mod without breaking the bank?

I placed an order with vapegear about this time yesterday, arrived 10am this morning.

This tends to be the norm rather than the exception, so with any luck you should be golden

Ah,well.....you're on a major route to London from The North :-) I'll be seriously bloody impressed if Royal Mail can get it from Sheffield to semi-rural Dorset in a day......but just a tad happy if they do :-)

did you order it from vapegear?

If so i would be surprised if you didn't see it tomorrow mate :D

Happy fookin days :D:D:D

Efest are sound, and also available on vapegear :D

Well mate......you were right! Sheffield to Dorset in a day!!

Sat here after a hard day's sparkying in a shitty, hot loft with a cold can of beer and a big shiny ZMax in front of me!!!! Pure joy.....happy days ;-)

Whacked the iGo-L straight on....dialled in RMS and 4 volts.........what a firkin' AMAZING vape.....just bored the hole out a bit on the iGo as well....needed it!!!!!! :-)

As you,ZT and Whitt said.....a solid bit of kit. Cheers for you advice again. You folks KNOW what you're talking about! :-) My vape will never be mediocre again.....eGo batteries now filed under 'D' for 'Dispose' ;-)

Awesome news mate.

easy to slag off royal mail, but....

Glad you like it bud, it will serve you well :)

Sadly,my Sigelei Zmax V3 experience wasn't the one I was hoping for :(

The first three or four days were great vaping. Then I started experiencing misfires. Then I got vibrations (fierce at times) from the unit and also noticed that the black button mechanism was slipping up and out of the clear button retainer. You can tell this is happening if a crescent shape starts to form in the button. You can also see it by looking down through the gap between the right side of the screen and the body...upwards slippage galore in my case.

Yes,the screen was on the piss....but aren't they all? Yes,most atties were on the piss.....but aren't most of them in this device? Those things really niggled at me but not enough to completely put me off the device. The uncertainty of the longevity of the button really did though. I thought that was the cheapest thing in the device....like they'd found this button laying around and thought "Sod it,that'll do." It lets the unit down a lot I think.

Anyway, the vendor couldn't find fault where misfires or vibration were concerned but offered to refund right away...no quibbles or hassle whatsoever. Top stuff! He didn't even want the box, charger or batteries back. How can you complain about a vendor like that? You just can't! :2thumbsup:

As much as there's no question that I'd still be using this mod if no issues had arisen,I can't say these are worth £70.00 a pop. Just can't. In my opinion, the standard of build quality doesn't justify the price. They are rattley beasts due to their telescopic nature. A well aligned screen or atomiser thread isn't too much to ask for in the 21st century is it? I mean,LED screens have been around for a while eh? How hard is it for someone in the production plant to shove one in straight and how hard is it for a QA bod to spot one that's on the piss? Or is on the piss acceptable? From what I've read, they're all like this. Should you need to have to get into the realms of £150+ for a mod just to get a well aligned screen and top atomiser thread? I don't think you should. The manufacturing concept is pretty simple.

Verdict..........as soon as I can get a stainless Vamo V4 (V2 body with V3 chipset and OLED display) at a non-silly UK price,I'll be having one and sticking with it. I'll happily take lower build quality so long as it's reflected in the price and it's a reliable hitter.

New stuff's coming out all the time. Has anybody seen/bought anything interesting you can shove 18650s in lately?

This turned into a bit of a review/rant but meeeehhhh,so be it :5:

Cheers,

Tobes

I have to say for a reliable vv 18650 mod i love my twin 18650 tin mod from Garry Dibley on the aaec forums. £22.50 including postage, mines well made, i look it hiking in the lakes for a week using everyday in all sorts of weather and it runs perfectly. plus twin 18650s seem to last me 3+ days between charges.
