I am struggling to see what I am doing wrong

I have tried Ni200, NiFe30 and 52, and SS316L in a range of coils from around 0.3ohms to 1.7ohms, all on Velocity drippers.

TCR adjusted correctly, everything set as it should be.

All spaced coils.

170 deg C to 230 deg C

I am afraid I'm not that impressed, struggling to get it to produce much vapour at all.

My Sigelei 150TC and x cube 2 just seem better at a third the cost.

Is anyone else having better results, and if so any tips are appreciated

Let me guess, cold - with weak vapour?
Try using less wick, it should be pretty loose compared to what you are used to with Kanthal - quickest way to test is to really soak the wick then give it a vape, if your first couple of vapes are fine then it seems to die off then that's a sure sign it's your wicking...

I would agree that it's probably the wicking, but this should not be as important for a dripper compared to a tank. I've never had a problem with my Pipeline Pro 2 (which is a Dani Extreme V2 with a different logo). Power modulation on it is definitely smoother than other TC devices I have (I don't have a DNA200 though).

One thing I find a bit suspicious is Ni200 and NiFe30 builds at 0.3 Ohm - that's a lot of wraps.

The 40 W max on the Dani might be a bit low to get your builds going. I do find drippers and/or high airflow tanks sometimes need a bit more power. You say the results are better on the Sig150 - what wattage do you run it at?

On the Dani, after/during taking a draw, check the screen - it displays the power that was/is being delivered and the temp reached during the vape. If it shows the same power as the set wattage (and maybe even a temp lower than you set), this indicates that your power is set too low. If it shows low wattage and the set temp, it indicates that either your wick is not saturated or your temp is set too low.

Depending on resistance usually no more than 40w

The most wraps I can do easily for a single coil is 12 which for NiFe30 comes in a little over 3ohms

The Ni200 I have managed around .3ohms using .25mm on a 3mm core

Im going to play some more this weekend, although punching the temp upto 240degs C works but I suspect I will get dry hits

You can also check your calibration - when the mod is cold, cycle to the 6th step in the menu (the one after "Calibr init") and you can see what resistance and temp the mod is currently reading. I find there can be a bit of drift with a new coil before it settles in.

Don't worry about upping to 240C, I tend to be in this ball park with drippers (tanks more like 200-220C for me).

Thanks Tony

No idea what I was doing wrong, but decided to set a few velocity RDAs up on the X Cube2.
Crazywire SS316L .35mm wrapped around a machine screw with ID a little over 2.6mm, 8 1/2 wraps comes in about .45 ohms. Dual coil. Set the X Cube TCR at 94.

Good flavour and clouds from 165degC up to 200C

The closest TCR I can set on the Dicodes is 100. It reads .46 ohms at 20 deg C.
At 40W and 200deg C its giving me reasonable flavour and similar clouds.

I have reduced wicking to slightly shy of FA as suggested by Tubbyengineer, so maybe that was it, but have been building for TC for a few months now and the Dicodes seems harder to get right than my XCube, Sigelei, or IPV D2.

Mind you using this SS316L is the first time that the X Cube has really produced the goods, that mod seem to respond well to stainless.

Im going to keep playing and stick with my new stainless wire for a bit.
