What's new

Did the last lockdown not work then?

It's a mixture. The rules where at fault. People where at fault. I now know someone who has died from covid, she was a friend of my Mom, how she caught Covid was she got bored of being in the house and decided to start going out and thus she contacted Covid. The point here is if you go out it's your own fault. The Under 40's are the people who moan, we can't get on the housing ladder, we can't earn enough money etc etc, now through their own doing ie gathering at beeches, marches, other mass getherings etc, well sorry but you will end up far worse off than ever now. With only yourselves to blame.
No point in moaning if you where stupid enough to ignore the guidelines. This lockdown is just to slow down Covid till xmas and then it will be let loose on everyone again, how the fuck are they going to police the 3 households rule.
Just watch the death toll rise in the New year and most will be over 40 unless the vaccine works as expected.

Could it be the schools?
Kids seem to spread every other bug out there and they are saying there is high spread in households.

I read (somewhere) that 1 in 5 school children are self-isolating - either with Covid, or because they’ve been in contact with someone with Covid. So schools are certainly a big contributing factor in the virus spreading.

exactly @Leni , to be honest i think the lockdowns are a bit pointless if schools stay open. my neighbour is a teacher and some of the stuff he was telling me is horrific. teachers drafted round all different schools because half the staff and loads of pupils isolating etc, being told not to worry because schools are “covid secure” despite the fact half the staff aren’t even distancing and it’s crawling with infected weans. madness.

I'm going to through this in as it came up tonight

"the whole world is wearing masks so why is covid still spreading so fast why are we still short-staffed and knackered"

the lockdown didn't really work IMO

'we slowed the spread' 'it's levelling off' 'the fever has broken' 'Charity for an ex-leper?'

so lockdown part 3, I expect will be in February featuring Bruce willis

The truth is the Govs idea is to get as many pensioners and disabled folks in the ground. If folks health and safety where a concern then we would have had a much more severe rules.
Now with a massive debt to repay the money has to come from somewhere. The only way they can try balancing things without causing mysery to the masses is to get those folks who cost the most off the Gov's bill, By relaxing the rules, eat out to help out, and other practices they aim to achieve their goal.
Folks think lockdown is bad, just wait till this covid has gone and our Gov tax you to hell. You won't have the money to do anything. Brand names will hopefully become a thing of the past as folks can no longer afford the inflated prices. The keeping up with the Jones's will also disappear. Which will be a godsend for most. I know folks will ask for pay increases but all that does is puts the price of goods up so it's a no win situation.

Perhaps the virus is spreading fast because a thin piece of fabric doesn't work !!! Especially when half the population make up some excuse not to wear one or don't wear one properly.
Just a thought [emoji6]
