Yup! You're adding 0.5ml flavouring to 4.5mls of your VG/PG/nic base.I'll knock up a 5ml sample of different strengths and find it that way

'Tis the only way, really, with "unknown" concentrates. If I have a concentrate that has a "recommended" dilution, I mix one at that strength, one 5% over and one 5% under. If I don't have a "recommended dilution" I mix four samples, 5%,10%15% and 20%. It's not as wasteful as it looks, because, by, after trying them out and confusing yourself with a little maths, you can mix the samples to get where you want to be. ( If you use the same nic strengths, the nicotine content remains the same when you are mixing the samples together)
Write your final concentrate % (the one that you like) down somewhere though! Otherwise you end up starting from the beginning again next time around.
That's the long piece of string question ... tobaccos I will leave at least a week, 2 weeks if I'm patient ... creamy flavours need a week ... fruits seem good to go the next day, either single or mixes of fruits ... any other kind of mix with 3 or more flavours I will leave at least a week. When you make up these 5ml samples, how quickly do you vape them afterwards to find out if the flavour % is too high/low?
