Vaping ejuice maximum size shrinks to 10ml
But
Smokers smallest avaiable pack size is increased by removal of 10 packs.

Big tobacco must be greasing a lot of palms.

(wasn't sure which forum to post this but as both facts are still hot news I put it here)

TPD is all geared to keep smokers smoking and line pockeys wether it be big tobacco, pharmacuticals or the Government and EU. They want peoples money and they want people dead before they get to draw a pension and of course they want the rich to become richer for the back handers they give.
No doubt the next step will be vapetax, meaning 10ml of liquid will cost around £6-7 20 fags or a 25 gram pouch of baccy will last longer than 10ml pushing people back towards smoking

Never a truer word crustyfolker, ive said all of the above for a long time.

As odd as it might seem to you, the two things were not actually linked, neither are they in the favour of Big Tobacco.

The regulation of restricting refill containers to 10mls (and the max strength of 20mg) is based on a false and very old understanding of nicotine toxicity - it's crassly stupid, we all know that. There's nothing to stop you buying multiple 10ml bottles though. The intention is to prevent accidental deaths by children swallowing the contents of a bottle. Me, I would happily down a 30ml bottle of juice if one EU lawmaker would down 5mls of household bleach which can be purchased in 1 litre bottles. That might aid a better understanding of the relative harms.

Plain packaging and minimum pack size for cigarettes is designed to limit the appeal of cigarettes to the youth market in particular - preventing the opportunist purchase in the £4-5 price point. A pack of 20 unbranded is currently up at £8-£10 which is beyond the reach of school pocket money. The minimum pack size will have the effect of reducing sales, not increasing them.

Big Tobacco have fought hard against the plain packaging and minimum pack size because they know it'll hit their sales and help to prevent youth take up of smoking. So any greasing of palms has failed hasn't it? Big Pharma on the other hand have their grubby mitts all over the TPD.

If tobacco companies were having as much influence as you suggest they would have introduced wallet friendly 5 packs of ciggies and had e-liquids sold in minimum of 100ml bottles.

We don't have that we have the opposite, so I don't get it really.

So why not just simply ban tobacco if none of what i say is true. After all it's stupidly addictive and kills people. The same goes for alcohol really except anyone can just produce their own booze very simply so a ban would never work with booze. Drugs and i am now talking class a drugs are illegal for a similar purpose, ie they are addictive and kill people, ruin lives, yes they are more dangerous, but in truth the added reason they are banned is because they alter the state of the mind as well. A different approach is needed for all of these substances.

It's all a plot to hoodwink people into believing that those in charge are trying to prevent smoking or reduce the numbers who do but if it where true then they would just outright ban tobacco, yes there would be a black market but at least a ban would prevent more people from bothering and limit the number of users somewhat.
Eliquid in 10ml to stop kids drinking it well its obsurd because all people need to do is keep it out of kids reach, just like we keep other dangerous stuff like bleach and prescription meds, plus child proof lids are now part of TPD so where is the logic for the 10ml. more waste for landfills again.
2 sides to everything and you can believe either but i believe corruption rules

Big pharma are the new kings of the castle. They dwarf tobacco. True they often work hand in glove but believe me I worked for one of the biggest. Pharma is the devil here.

I believe (perhaps incorrectly) that the only reason vaping was included in TPD was to stop the Tobacco Industry sueing countries for loss of profit.

ISDS/ corporate soverinty at work :(

The company I worked for are part of the delightful group that raised the cost of their essential aids and cancer drugs by over 500% in one year. Just Because they could.

Big tobacco firms don't have the same influence they once did, but the guys are right big pharma do and really don't care who or what they hurt/damage, as long as they make money. Vaping is a tiny market in comparison.
