Hello Guys,

I've been reading these forums for a bit but registered only today.

I started vaping a couple of months ago and found these forums really helpful, especially when I had "vapers tongue" (it passed after three days).

This is what I think of vaping so far:

I used to be a scientist, so testing new things like juices is very enjoyable to me. Lately I've gotten into making coils and such (baby and normal Octopuses). My wife saw me calculating and measuring resistances with tools out and concluded I was back in the lab :) I've got a really successful dripping set up now that works at 2.0 ohm for both types of Octopuses and has the tails neatly tucked whilst maintaining a good airflow.

Although vaping is arguably more pleasurable than smoking fags (I used to smoke Golden Virginia, them beautiful delicious bastards), I still find that even if the vape is worse from one, a cigarette-like set up is the best (especially if I'm on beers, like now). For this, a cig battery and 510 bridgeless seems like the winner with HoL Puros juice. During the days I'm quite happy with dripping (or CE4-ing) RY4 and Eastern Expression. I really don't like all the "tobacco" juices with aniseed.. that shit is absolutely foul.

Money-wise I have blown a little fortune :) Not on shinies though, but rather trying all different types of kit. The latest to come in is SD keyring: I want to see if it is small enough to be hung from the lip like a fag.. I used to love that :p. Most things I've bought have been good quality, like CE4s and especially Tescos 10-motives batteries. Others like the Vamo were crap (threads in that simply are sub-par: 3 weeks in and they are gone). Nevermind though, if it takes a bit of moneys not to smoke fags then so be it. I've got a lot of supplies now so I can take it easy and just make some more PV holders in the workshop.

All in all good times, I've got beers out and I'm happy which was never the case with NRT stuffs.

I will have a hiatus from buying stuff now, but will come in for some advice when I need to get mech mods.

Happy vaping,

Dr A

What a great journey to have ;)

Welcome to the planet and thanks for sharing your journey so far :)

Yep stainless steel one. Got one Octopus stuck on it now and will try and not remove it :p

Bet it will leak though.

Edit: about the Vamo.. protank II or drippers don't sit flush on it, so I had to machine a washer for it. Although I have a workshop, I can't see it being reasonable to make additional bits for bought items.

Definitely agree with you there Dr A, should not have to tinker that much with any item... :(

Of all the 4 SS Vamo's I have, I've never had one thread or a tank not sitting flush... I suppose I've been lucky ;)
Got a V5 coming so I'll have to see if the new top cap design holds up :)

Yeps. I wish my Vamo was a good one.. but never mind. Next time I'll buy a mechanical mod, but not before I've perfected my coils for 4.2 - 3.7V. For now, I've got some more ego batteries coming for traveling (I've got a pass-through system in my car as well). I killed one of my egos last night trying on a mesh-coil system :D

welcome Dr A ..i use mech mods now and ego/ce5 combo sometimes in work .but still use my old s/s vamo v2 for the ohm meter and battery checking purposes ,my vamo isnt perfect on top either .had to use a belt sander on the 510 thread as it protruded above the top of the mod at an alarming angle .all sits flush now .but the 510 threads are feeling quite threadbare now so a multi meter and atty tester may be in the shopping list soon .....oh and welcome to the planet by the way :D
