Dr A arrives

welcome @Dr A ..i use mech mods now and ego/ce5 combo sometimes in work .but still use my old s/s vamo v2 for the ohm meter and battery checking purposes ,my vamo isnt perfect on top either .had to use a belt sander on the 510 thread as it protruded above the top of the mod at an alarming angle .all sits flush now .but the 510 threads are feeling quite threadbare now so a multi meter and atty tester may be in the shopping list soon .....oh and welcome to the planet by the way :D

Hi Gary,

Good to know I'm not the only one :)

I've got a Sigelei Ohm meter as well, so if the Vamo won't tell me resistance, I can use that. The Sigelei is better as well as it will not fire the coil, so you can adjust things while mounted (unless my atties are on my three head stand). Come to think of the three head stand: it is a wooden block made with three classic ecig bases cut from batteries that went dead. These batteries were crap and only lasted for a couple of charges (at nearly 10 quid a pop). Anyways.. I wanted to get the 510 heads off of them, so I had some beers and took them into the workshop and popped them into a vice and got out an angle grinder. The fekers burst into smokiest flames and I had to evacuate :D

lesson learned, these Lithium ion batteries are not to be fooked with even if they are "dead" :p

I no longer leave anything on charge overnight :D

Cheers,

Dr A

Welcome to the planet Dr A.

How much screwing were you indulging in to shaft a Vamo head inside of 3 weeks?

(all of my vamos have been standard not SS versions though so I have no experience of the Vamo SS threads)

I did a fair bit of screwing, but considering how tough screws are in general are it shouldn't be a problem. I think the Vamo screw is a made of soft cheap alloy (couldn't guess anything particular). My very original rechargeable Tesco's batteries are still OK and they have been screwed more than anything.. love them (crap cartos, but good batteries, worth the 9 quid). I was looking at them in store buying lunch today and wanted to buy more.

I think vaping is still in it's infancy where products are a bit of hit and miss.. it can only improve.

I am not a scientist (nor do I play one on TV) but I do like to indulge in a fair amount of screwing.

I think you're right lots of products are very hit and miss. There are at least 5 manufacturers that I've heard of who make Vamos for example.
I wouldn't want to count how many people are making eGos.

I'd love to be able to see what kind of tech we'll be using in a couple of years from now.

Welcome Dr A !!!! Get yourself a mech mod, I resisted for ages after all the scary stories I'd seen about them but since i've got a few I don't use anything else, I must admit I do use fuses in them just to be on the safe side but the Vape is so much better and they look well nice!!!! (By the way what's the A stand for, I'm hoping it's not what I think it is unless your a former Proctologist)!!!:welcome1:
