Hi guys I've recently got an igo-w & yeah I'm happy with it do far! Tho the thing is I'm only use'n single coil atm coz it only has 1 tiny airhole!!! I want 2 try duel coil & I'd also like the airhole 2b abit bigger. So my Q is.....
How hard is it 2 drill out the hole & also make a new 1 on the other side 2 feed the other coil??? I have a drill & loads of drill bits but I don't have a vice 2 hold the cap while I drill!
Can any1 advise me on wat I shld do? Ty

Easy to drill out , I have done quite a few now. I do recommend a vice but if you take care the hole that is there already can be done by holding between a thick towel with your fingers well out of the way.

There is a picture of someone with a drill bit through there finger.

But the pre drilled hole is easy and if you can find a vice to use you can continue straight through so the holes are lined up.

BUT TAKE CARE and use common sense buddy ;)

& that's wat I don't want happening lol drill bit thro my finger or thumb lol

Get a thick towel put it on a flat surface put the top cap on its side then gather the towel up so there is a lot of towel either side. Keeping it on the flat surface drill nice and slow because the metal is soft it will go through like butter.
ONLY pressure on the towel to stop it spinning BUT only do this if you cant get a vice :)

I'll see if theirs anywhere about I can get use of a vice b4 I try without. Ty 4 the advice driver

No problem bud. Im lucky I have a full workshop at my disposal with cnc laves vices and lots of sexy machines (if your into that sort of thing).

But good luck mate.

To help with the drilling, wrap a few layers of plain old electrical tape over the area of the cap you want to drill.I do this when drilling through from the outside of curved caps,I also hold the cap in a pair of large pliers so my fingers are nowhere near the drill, and the electrical tape will protect the cap from scratches if you're a little OCD about such things.

One thing that springs to mind, find 2 chunks of wood, or better yet bricks, lay them side by side with a gap inbetween them. Put cloth or electrical tape on the side of bricks facing each other and place the cap in the gap like this--> []C[] use your knees to keep the bricks in place holding the cap steady and then drill away, no risk of drilling your hands then!

Drill slowly at first too. Slow with metal is the key. This also stops the 300mph slip off and through the finger routine.

Mason.
