Drip Tip Project

Well done Gillian as you said it's all about practice practice practice :D

is this using one of those small hobby lathes? 300mm width etc

It was made on a Charnwood Midi lathe, OH wouldn't even consider a hobby lathe, need the geared head stock and chuck tail stock for mandrels :)

I'd say that looks damn good, can you do double O rings at the base? I always feel they fit better and don't wobble. My preferred pattern would be for something with a straight smooth section at the top, with an outward bulge below that containing either ribs or just the standard potbelly so in section it would look like "db" - Oops thats un-intentionally phallic but you get what I mean... If you do decide to produce I'd like to order a couple or three...

cliffo Tubbyengineer At the moment I am just getting used to the material and finding out how to do different shapes ;)

That's why I used the worst piece IMO of the blanks I have, don't want to make a mistake and ruin a nice one :D

Nope I understand that. I think you're doing great - was just wondering if the shape I mentioned is possible and expressed the wish to purchase if and only if you ever do decide to go into production at some unspecified point.:giverose:

Tubbyengineer you guys in POTV will be the first to know ;)

I think the ming vase style is possible, might have a try at that tomorrow :D
Also tried a narrower airhole in this one, 4mm in the first and 2.5mm in this one, which makes a difference in shapes available :)

Another one done, tried the double o-ring, I just couldn't get it to fit in the tank ;) Need to work on my fine dexterity skills :)

However the ming vase style hasn't turned out too badly :D
This is the last of this colour so onto the next blank...
