ego adapter problem

hi i am trying to use 510 adapter on an ego v6 but everytime the adapter is fitted the red light flashes and it will not work, really confused does anyone know what the issue may be?

Did you screw it down too tight and push the centre pin so that there is no contact being made? If so, gently lift the centre pin with a paper clip or toothpick

no it was just flashing with it not even on the thread that tight even without a tank on it is flashing, but if i twist the adapter so it only threaded in about halfway it works...

ok i think i may have found out the problem.. the center pin is very sensitive i only need to push down on it gently and the it will not work i think need to remove the rubber washer which is way too soft from there and replace it with a hard washer to keep the center pin raised more
