Ok, as I'm new to vaping... I've been digging around looking at eliquid reviews and trying to figure out what flavour profiles work for me... and traipsing all over a *lot* of juice seller websites looking at various brands... and a question keeps rolling around my head....

Why do so many juice companies have shite branding?

And am I a total snob for not wanting to buy an eliquid that comes highly recommended, just coz the packaging is soooo bloody annoying looking?
I keep wondering, who are they aiming at?

Vampire Vapes might have the best tasting heisenberg on the planet, but nope... I'm not wanting to pull that bottle out of my pocket in public. It looks like one of those squeezey bottles of fake blood from a joke shop.
And that's one of the better bad branding... so many others look like a cartoonish sugar rush car crash.
Whats up with that?

Am I just shallow? :18:

No, much of it to me is really childish.

I think because vaping started as a Grass roots industry - with a few small companies - those companies when they started didn’t have the money to employ proper marketing and brand gurus, so did it themselves.

of course once a brand is established they then don’t want to change that branding.

I certainly know that’s the case for us. We have never employed anyone to do the branding - but then we never got big enough to either.

I try to keep clear of childish bottle branding also. In saying that if something was great I’d use it but I find that most of the things I like the look of don’t come in garish packaging. Being mtl too I never have to take a bottle with me anywhere.

You could always buy some cheap spare bottles and label them yourself and just decant from the original.

Think of it this way...

Have you ever had a girlfriend that could suck a golf ball straight out of a hose pipe but still gives you a constant headache?

Annoying looking bottles are like annoying adverts, you remember them.

Yep, some of the branding is absolutely atrocious. The cartoon style that tends to appeal to children is an embarrassment to the industry as far as I’m concerned. I buy Heisenberg concentrate because I mix it for a friend, Vampire Vapes isn’t even close to the worst. What bothers me more is the blue colouring in it, which isn’t needed, it’s just part of the brand now. And it’s all this particular person will vape, so that’s that :25:

I always tend to think that eliquid manufacturers should look more towards the branding of alcohol products, as examples of how to brand products for adults. I think your branding at Manabush is excellent @ZT - it’s classy, distinctive, and adult-appropriate imo :10:

No, it’s not just you.

I DIY 99% of the time so I could care less about the style of the branding. If you name a flavour something that I don't know what it is by the name, I'll ignore your brand. I don't need to spend time figuring out what it is, there's more brands than I could possibly try. The only way you get away with this is if you already have a ton of recommendations. Even then it's irritating.
