'Lo guys and gals.

As many posting and asking for advice in this section, I'm just starting out on the diy path, getting a few bits together, ready to make my own liquids.

My question concerns enhancers In a sense, essentially I am wondering if there are more than the sweetener/menthol/etc ones I see posted about often, more concentrates/additives more akin to condiments. If I wanted a hint of pepper perhaps, or citrus zing without the fruit, or a vinegar sharpness? Anything anyone can recommend?

You can get things like Bitter Wizard to enhance bitterness, and i think you can actually get a black pepper concentrate, and i know for sure there's chilli concentrates.

For citrus zing i'm not sure, maybe be brave and try adding citric acid to your e-liquids? vinegar, acetic acid? I don't see any reason why you can't just add vinegar to your e-liquid, it's essentially acetic acid and water.

I'm quite tame with my mixing, by comparison to some.
But I believe some mixers use Malic acid instead of Citric acid and use Cider vinegar, but I believe that is more as a flavour balancer.
Also, you can buy (and I have done) sweeteners of various hues (stevia, ethyl maltol....), sharpeners, smootheners, ice-eners(not menthol, koolada) and all sorts of other -eners.
Some good places to look are: LTEcigs, Leisureliquids and Chef's Vapour

Edit: Not to mention the mighty MTS Vape Wizard, which should be in any new mixer's toolkit. Simply put, it makes bad mixes vapeable (in most cases)

Thanks for the replies, tidy ones too :-)

I did consider the xxxx-acid route for citrus, was just a little unsure if it would be wholly suitable. Pepper and chilies I shall look out for.

Vinegar as a balancer? Better not waste 8yo balsamic then!

I'm fairly sure I won't have much use for a lot of these kind of flavour enhancers, I simply wonder how wide a variety is actually possible, and of course safe to vape.

Top info both!

Having a google for these types of concentrates, I've just came across www.biriecigs.co.uk which seems to have exactly the kind of flavours an experimental diyer would love.

Had 3 hits on the forum search, anyone know if they're a good supplier?

*edit
Old Serpent is the concentrate manufacturer. *shrugs*

As a vendor I can't fault them, bought some kit from them before, but not tried any of their concentrates. They do look nice and unusual though, might have to stock up on some of the stranger ones on payday. Cardamom + Custard anyone?

Clove and custard might be easier on the pallette perhaps, but why not?! :-)

My better half has a 'cookie' recipe from the old country which is fan-fucking-tastic, and contains clove... definitely something I may try to replicate.

Definitely AND may? Stroll on.

Citric acid for citrus flavours (sort of obvious! :) ); malic acid for other fruits in general and as a general sour :strawberry: add loads and you'll get a slight fizz! :diy:

Still experimenting with vinegars; balsamic with raspberry is nice, but just a small drop or two as it can clag up coils, and needs balancing with a sweetener (my preference is EM for this mix).

Sadly I found the Birie flavours very weak; I did try to make my own cardamom by steeping crushed seeds in PG , but it wasn't worth it as the taste was more like burnt rubber :puke:
