ENVI vote Passed 49 in Favour 7 Against

No surprises there.

According to Dave Dorn there was enough opposition for there to be future amendments tabled to it. Was good to hear Chris Davies talking about reservations to article 18, still a long way to go.

Relieved to hear his reservations considering his excitement after talking with "Trade Bodies" in the industry.

What`s depressing me right now is that this is pretty much the only issue that should matter to us right now and this threads had half a dozen replies from 3 members.

In the meantime everyone seems quite happy to keep chatting about all the devices and liquids they`ll probably soon be unable to buy, at least legally anyway.
This is possibly the most game-changing thing to happen to UK vaping so you`ll have to forgive me if I can`t currently work up any enthusiasm for the latest mech-mods and drippers.

I was quite optimistic yesterday, but today is just depressing the hell out of me.
It just feels like most EU politicians seem quite happy to condemn potentially millions to a slow, painful cancerous death and there`s not a fucking thing we can do about it.

I get your drift. We always pretty much knew the outcome of today's vote so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise. It's easy to get down but the war isn't over yet. We need to keep fighting. We can expect amendments to be tabled and another vote in plenary. In the mean time life goes on and the forum can't just shut up shop in abject misery and not discuss anything else.
In fact the bigger we grow, the more interest we encourage, the better chance we have of not being ignored.
That said we ALL should be getting our arses in gear and write AGAIN to our MEPs

There's plenty you can do about it.

The main thing is to not allow 'them' to dictate to you and allow them the authority to make decisions for you. You are an individual and are capable of making your own decisions and taking personal responsibility for those decisions.

'They' only have power to dictate and control if you allow them that power. Don't allow it to them. Take action for yourself to remove their presumed control over you.

Learn to mix your own juice (if you don't do it already) and stock up on nicotine base. This is the main element here 'they' will be able to exert control over, so buy a few litres of nic base and store it in a freezer (should 'keep' for a good few years).

Get your hands on a few rebuildable atties and learn how to make your own coils (again, if you don't already).

Buy a mech mod or 2 (no electronics makes them a bit more durable) and/or learn how to make your own devices (sounds complicated, but I've done it and if a bimbo like me can do it, then anyone can).

I've done all of the above and because of that, it won't matter what ever restrictions they want to put in place.. the fuckers cant control me because I've put that control in my own hands and taken it away from 'them'.

Don't be down hearted.. we all knew this would never be an easy fight but we can't just shrug our shoulders and give up. We need to keep challenging 'them' and using social media to spread the truth (seeing as 'they' seem to have a stranglehold on mainstream media). We have to keep plugging away for the sake of those smokers who haven't tried vaping yet.. they're the ones who will bear the brunt of restrictive regulation.. we already know the benefits vaping can bring AND we are still in the position of being able to deny 'them' control over us.

Don't give up, arm yourself with enough supplies to say 'fuck em', keep spreading the word over social media and above all else... don't let the bastards grind you down.

I'm confident we will win out eventually (probably have to fight it out in the courts) but I believe we'll win in the end.

Vape hard!

Sorry @Mark didn`t mean to come off quite so negative and I quite agree that life must go on it`s why we`re all here in the first place.
I just don`t feel it`s getting quite the coverage it should be getting, even on POTV.
The fact that I`m the only other person to even reply to this thread besides you and @VaperCaper suggests that perhaps POTV should make more of this
than it currently is, tucked away in the news section.

I think this should be plastered on the homepage to allow new members to quickly get up to speed on this.
It`s not the only thing going on in UK vaping right now but it is, imo, the most important thing.

If we all end up restricted to cigalikes then there really won`t be much to discuss on POTV besides which countries we can best import our now illegal devices from.

And, yes, the fight goes on, always.

Best regards.
Rob

I do get where you are coming from and I am in the process of stocking up on Nic base and mixing supplies as well as a large supply of my favorite devices.
It just royally pisses me off that I am having to do this and it does nothing to help the millions of people who may not now start, or continue vaping due to a lack of suitable devices or liquids.

I thought I had left all this cloak and dagger bullshit and law-dodging behind when I quit smoking weed, apparently this is not the case.
