Hi folks

Must say this is quite an active forum and since i decided to try vaping, have been trawling this site for quite some time. Have read quite a bit and currently on jacvapour v3is. Hoping to upgrade soon but flooded with all the information out there. Particularly, I had the following 2 queries:
- Is a Kanger EVOD better than a vGo? Even if both of them have the same maH levels? and why?
- Some of the clearomisers have a bottom coil and some of them at the top. Any ideas on which one is better and why? ( I did read a bit about them and personally feel the bottom coil is better because gravity takes care of making sure the liquid reaches the wick / coil. On the other hand, the top coil one gives a warmer vape as against the bottom one where its cooler)

Sorry I can't help with the evod / vGo bit.
But with the bottom coils.
Yes cooler vape, gravity to help the wickes. Also they are what they call airer, as in you don't have to pull so hard as with a top coil. It is also about personal preference. Some people prefer the way the top coils draw, and some the bottom ones.
The only way to find out which one you prefer is to try them. You will need to set them up the same, say both 1.8 ohm, and try them on the same battery.
And just to add to the confusion (if that's the right term), you also have dual coiled ones to think about as well.
Most people will try an evod bcc, as they are a lot cheaper than protanks etc.
As you don't want to shell out to much on something you might not like.
But most people do. That's why they/we rave on about evods protanks etc. More than top coil stuff.
With that said the nova's and iclear top coils are good. I use them myself as well as bottom coiled stuff.

thanks for that. I personally prefer a cooler vape and i like the idea of the liquid always being able to reach the coil as the coil is at the bottom (thanks Newton?!)! with a top coil, presumably, we will have to make sure that the wicks are wet before vaping? am not so much perturbed by single or dual coil right now though.

Hi Modestvaper and welcome to the forum :) I was in your position about one month ago and will give you my opinion if it's worth anything.

I do conform to anthonyb opinion. I think overall whether top or bottom coil devices are better is totally subjective - down to the individual. I have tried the CE5 that has a top wick at the very start and it did get me off the cigs. I still know people who love top wicks and the hotter vape. The vivi nova tanks and the innokin Iclear30 are popular. Regarding the latter, I had a vape on one recently and thought it was great.

I soon moved to the EVOd and Protank and they have been great. I do prefer the cooler vape, they are easy and cheap to re-build, I do get a lot more vapour and throat hit. I got an EVOD clearo with 1000 mah battery for around £18... really not that bad of a price. I also use the EVOD when I'm out clubbing as it looks stylish! However, my vape world changed yesterday when I got the ASpire BDC clearomizer... it has a bottom dual coil and produces a hotter vape with excellent flavour! I'd recommend them to anyone. However, it looks a mission to rebuild them! If you buy one, make sure to order a few extra coils.

Mah levels determine how long your battery lasts... not really its voltage. Standard ego batteries is about 3.7 volts. You will want 1.8 ohm coils though as it will work a lot better. Anyways, that's my opinion. Maybe buy a top wick and bottom wick clearo and try them out :)

It's best to let all, top and bottom coils soak for a minute or two. Get the wicks nice and moist.
With the top coils, you have to tilt more and more as the juice level drops, to keep the wickes moist.

I do prefer the bottom coils, though I admit to not having used anything but CE4s, most of them pretty poor quality, so I can;t compare to the better quality top coils (I do have some iclear 16s that came with my itaste that look much better quality, but not tried them yet).

I like the cooler vape of the BCCs, though I also use DCTs, which produce lots of vapour and are much warmer - and I love these too.

The Evod is a great starting point for BCC, as they're cheap - easy and cheap to replace the heads and produce a good vape - from there, you might be tempted by a protank or protank mini etc

Thnx all for the responses. Me almost on the verge of buying an evod and thinking of buying a pyrex glass tank to go with it. Will update once I do. Till then vaping away on my v3is.

If you want a glass tank in evod size go for the pro tank mini's they hold same amount of juice as a evod

But then I m also being enticed by the protank 2.. Has a bigger capacity than the mini.. N recently saw a hyper tank as well... 5 ml.. Ideally I would prefer the battery life to match the tank content..
