Evening all...

just wanted to ask if it's normal to NOT be coughing up any junk after 3 weeks of quitting the stinkies?

I've smoked for 30 years (I hate to think how much that's cost me, could prob have bought a house) but not had the expected upchucking of tar or owt from my lungs.

Is it something I should be bothered about or is it too early for such things to be happening, I really like the idea of being able to regenerate damaged cells especially at my age :D

Eh...is OK, I found this on a medical site "Between one month and nine months, the cilia in your lungs will regenerate, allowing your body to clean your lungs and reduce infection." Got a way to go then...

You may not notice it at all, especially if it happens to coincide with the winter coughs and colds season, I didn't cough a great deal at all but did have a couple of heavy chest infections that could have masked it...

Something to look forward to, I had an awful chest infection last year with 2 rounds of antibiotics...hoping to avoid that this winter...my lung feel bigger already though :)

After quitting a 25 year habit I expected more coughing too but didn't happen. Saying that smoking never affected my chest as badly as I thought it should, it was always my sinuses that I felt were taking the most grief from my smoking habit - no particular medical evidence of this - just a guess based on how badly the different parts of my respiratory system would cope with colds etc. I did get a couple of corking sinus infections immediately after starting to vape - prolly just coincidence but I did seem to shift an awful lot of evil crap outta there as a result...no more info needed lol...never heard of 'smokers sinus' tho ;)

Ma'am I was a heavy smoker for 20 years and was coughing up shit a good while afterwards. I'm not sure of exactly how long but it was a while.
I do remember it not starting immediately either- it was something that began a few weeks into having switched.
It's just your body getting rid of the nasties. It's a good thing I'd imagine [emoji4]

Ooh lovely, better out than in I spose, I guess the vapour helps loosen all the crap too...I'm the same, never got more than a slight wheeze, my daughter hated that though as she could hear it when she was cuddled up to me...happy to say that's already gone :)

I think it's a good thing too and am kinda hoping it does happen, seeing is believing as they say. Nice to know our bodies can forgive us after so long abusing them with smoking!
