Hello people, been vaping around 6/7 weeks now and still on the original ego t battery and ce4 that came with it, I thinks its a 4 anyway. Also have a kanger evod but not sure if I like it. Still smoking analogues but down from 20 a day to 5-7 a day. Would anyone recommend good cig-a-like set ups? Im thinkin a cigarette style vape may help me drop the cigs, also im getting my juices from vapology in 18mg which im pretty happy with, any other good recommends?? Also how can I take down the throat hit slightly do I up the vg amounts in the mix or drop the nicotine? Any help greatly appreciated folks thanks :)

hi, Ciaran Birney,
Sorry I can't recommend any cig-a-likes, never used then.
With your ego-t battery you could try one of the vivi novas with a 1.8ohm coil. There are top coils like the ce4, but better.
Your kanger evod may need a lower ohm head in it, once again about 1.8ohm. I say this because the ego battery has a fixed voltage at 3.7 volts, and any clearomiser with a coil much above 2.2ohm won't work very well with it.
The throat hit can be lowered (shoot me down if i'm wrong) by lowering the nicotine a little, and uping the vg a little. Bearing in mind that, lwering the nicotine might not help the craving for a smoke as well. And upping the vg will lower the flavor a little.
Going to a 50/50 mix would be worth a try and leave the nicotine level where it is, and see how you get on.
As far losing the last few smokes, it took me 5 weeks. But I had to just go for it. It's different for everybody on that one.

What is it that you like most about smoking?

You can drop the throat hit by reducing the nic or turning down the power.

There aren't any good cig-a-like vapes. Well there are and there aren't. They have limitations and if you go for looky likeys you need several of them as the batteries only last 2 hours tops, and the batteries don't provide enough power to the cartos really, if you've not experienced anything different then they can be great, but if you've got used to an eGo vape they will likely seem a little weak and insipid, especially once they lose the charge a little.

Innokin do a cig-a-like thing in a charger case, Joyetech do one too called the eRoll. If you're determined to try some and you think they might work well for you then those are probably the best ones around. I'd definitely recommend getting some that take 510 cartos as then you can buy blank cartos and fill with the juice you prefer, prefilled cartos work out to be pricey.

Saw a review for the eROLL PCC by Joyetech, this is more cig-like and apparently a good setup from http://pink-mule.com/ this might be something to consider as it is refillable :)

I would stay with the 18mg e-liquid and try a higher VG, as the PG does promote throat hit in e-liquids :)
There is a company http://www.smokerainbow.com/ where you can buy 1ml samples of many bigger brand name e-liquids to try, most are 70PG/30VG but it will give you an idea of flavours :)

All very helpful so far guys thanks a lot! Im an electrician usually based in construction, iv only ever tried the e-lite dirt from filling stations as far a cigarette style goes im just thinking compact for similarity to smokes and convenience! Maybe a more likable liquid and a better set up could take me that bit further! Im open to suggestions, but I dnt think il ever b the type to go down the road of vamo's etc.

I'm 3 months in and right at the "starter kit" end of the available kit, largely because I want small, convenient and familiar ;-) However, what I've definitely found is that the ego+CE is way more convenient than the cigalikes if only because the battery lasts longer and you can pick and choose your juice flavours and strengths as and when. What is it you're finding not to your liking about the ego+CE setup? I was going to suggest maybe a cooler vape from a bottom-coiled clearo like the evod, but I see you've tried that.

Try an mvp 2 from myepack a very compact little box mod about the size of a pack of fags and mighty powerful u can use em with evod tanks which are small but give great flavour and help with compactness

If you're after small and convenient maybe an SD keyring would do the job? or an eGo 350mah mini with an EVOD or a standard carto on it?

As above get a Mini Ego battery plus some Boge cartomizers add a nice drip tip with some 16mg juice of your choice. Or have a look at the Innokin AIO reviews all over the web ( If you look at the vendors discount codes you can pick one up cheap as chips) It as a Cig a like + 3 cartomizers + its a mobile power supply that charges your Cig while out and about.
