Finally made my first coil

I'm so pleased. I finally made a coil and popped it onto my Aerotank. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't anything fancy, it was just a bog standard single coil with silica wick, but it worked.

It came out at 2.7 ohms, which is way too high for what I want but...it worked! I'm truly amazed.

Found getting the coil to stay in shape the hardest part. The wire kept wanting to spring apart, even after I torched it. But still, the damned thing worked.

I think I'm officially a 'proper vaper' now. Yay.

May this be the first of many! I remember my first coil *sigh* I was so proud I put a picture of it up on here and everything - it was my baby, my first born coil, bless it's little heart. It served me well.

I'm not going to be posting any pictures though as she's an ugly little thing with very strange wicking. I'm going to protect her from the world and their insults.

It`s a great feeling isn`t it?

I do my own Aerotank coils too and I find 5 wraps of .20 Kanthal around a 3mm wick comes out at around 2 ohms nicely, pop a second bit of 3mm silica on top and boom, job done.

My first time was with an evod coil. I can remember doing a bit of a jig around the living room when the thing produced vapour!

I made my first coil last night. Got an omega dripper delivered and couldn't resist giving it a clean then using some of the wire that came with it. Came out at 2.0 ohm but did do 8 wraps so next one will be less and see if I can hit 1.5. Was well happy with the way it looked!

Well done. Its a cool feeling. I've just done a micro coil in an ghs2 with cotton. Turned out way too high ohms, aroung 2.6 but I did a little jig and proudly showed my wife

Yeah my mrs did the same thing. I said to her when she starts vaping when the little one goes onto bottles it'll save us money if I make the coils instead of her spending £2 each time for a new one
