Okay so here my first go at mixing (not too successful)

Made a blueberry (cap) menthol (fart) both with 4% flavour, meaning 8% altogether!!

Don't know why but the flavour seems very perfumey with a strange after taste?

Possibly it needs steeping if not I'm not sure of the issue?!

Next flavour was a blueberry (cap) black cherry (fart) with the blueberry at 6% and the black cherry at 2% to give 8% flavour again!

Once again the flavour is not great and leaves a weird taste in my mouth!!

Does anyone have any tips that could help me here??

Fruits and menthol don't require maturation, they're usually good to go and won't improve over time.
Sounds to me like you don't like that Capella Blueberry.

One source I use recommends the Capella Blueberry at 20% !!! Normally, 5-10% is recommended for Capella. The 8 or so Capella's that I have I mix at 10-15%
Think you're about right with the Flavourart Black Cherry though, any higher and it's chemically smelling and tasting.
I can't help with menthols as I never use them. My guess would be to try more Blueberry, less menthol in the first mix.
The second one is up to you and your taste buds ... try increasing the % but understand that you might have to try another Blueberry concentrate.
Disappointing not to get it right first go but tinkering with %s is fairly normal for mixing I'm afraid.

EDIT - ah, I've just seen that you posted this on your Menthol Crystals thread:-
"Thanks buddy, didn't quite come out as expected!! The black cherry blueberry was good however I must have used too much of the Capella blueberry in a blueberry menthol as it tastes almost powdery/ perfumey?! God knows!!"

You added 6% Blueberry in the mix with Black Cherry and only 4% in the Menthol mix ... so if the Black Cherry mix is the better of the two then it can't be too much in with the menthol. Maybe it's the menthol that's the problem - are the crystals completely dissolved?

Thanks for the advice buddy!! I'm thinking I don't like the blueberry, just very powdery tasting!!

Surely under flavouring something would mean it would be tasteless?

And just a quick question, I brought the VG from vape escape and it says it's mixed with diluted water, would I have to add this to the mixing calculator?

I wouldn't give up on it just yet, try it at 10% or even more ... for me their Cranberry doesn't taste good until 20% and a little boost of Ethyl Maltol. If you get no joy with it at higher %s then you can bin it, or trade it. Someone else might like it.

Diluting VG with distilled water makes it Aqueous or AVG. Treat it as VG in the calculator.

Okay buddy, thankyou for the help honestly!!

Might look at some of the clone recipes that are on the planet and try from there!!

Fruits do require steeping to get best taste out of them especially if there complex mixs, sure you can shake and vape but it wont be at its best. 4% for flavour art is really high i dont usually go above 2% if im mixing multiple flavours

Well the blueberry was Capella but the menthol was flavour art!! I might add more blueberry to the mix, which in turn should dilute the menthol??

I'm finding the flavour art menthol weak however??

Strange wich 1 is it?, have to be carefull with concentrates you can fade flavour with too much concentrate too sounds strange but its true, blueberry is hard flavour to get, best 1 is flavour arts billberry you dont get that faint taste of blueberry its full body taste. You could try adding a drop and i mean like a drop of black current see if itl lift the blueberry without changing the flavour

Ive only got menthol, black cherry and blueberry as ive just started :( but that's strange how that would lift the flavour??

And ive just read that Capella should be used at 10-20% so I might have to add more blueberry and see how it pans out :)

as I said earlier I think I'm going to attempt a clone recipe next as then I'll have a more accurate flavour that I'll be aiming to achieve rather than just guessing at a flavour!!
