First Build.

If you like a cheeky MTL vape at work, have you had a look at the Kayfun mini? Great little MTL rebuildable tank & will be a breeze for you to build on. I'm the same, I can't be chucking clouds at work, making a scene in public or fogging up mate's living rooms :D

I had a Zeph v2 arrive today, had to get the rubber gloves out to get the thing apart & was a right bugger to get it back together! Do you build your Zeph's?

@johnnyace I read this thread https://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/...urn-to-mtl-and-restricted-lung-vaping.103530/ and it came up with some cracking recommendations for mtl tanks. However, after repeatedly checking out 3 tanks over 3 or 4 days, I still couldn't make my mind up, so I'm awaiting the arrival of these 3.:bliss:

In answer to your question, yes I do build on my Zephs, although I've only just begun doing so. One of the tanks is on it's second set of coils, whilst the other got it's first set of coils around 2am this morning. I know what you mean about the taking it apart and putting it back together. I've learned that if one puts a little juice on the bottom seal before returning it to the base, the glass tank can then be gently twisted into place. Then, again with a little juice applied to the top seal, insert it into the top of the tank and then take the top and gently twist into the tank and allow it to take up on the thread above the deck without cross threading it. Slowly is the best way to put it back together that I've found. The only problem I'm having with them is, I'm really starting to like the taste and clouds.:2thumbsup:

This is the vid I watched. The music at the start is loud and crap in my opinion, but the guy doing the rebuild has a very relaxed manner about him, making the vid very east to watch. Hope it bears some resemblance to the v2.

Excellent choices sir! That's the same KF Mini I've got & it's brilliant & the Taifun is an excellent vape too :2thumbsup: Both easy builds for you to get stuck into. I can't comment on the Calix as I don't have one, I have been very tempted in the past but it looks a little fugly to me :22::18:

Thanks for the video, I've read the V2 has the same deck as the V1, it's just a little bigger. I did use little juice on the seals to get it back together, it just wasn't happening without it & I had to use a bit of force just to get the chimney cap to even reach the chimney section. The seals are flipping huge & I was paranoid about breaking the glass

@pava you asked which ni80 gauge should you get. I'd say stick to 26 gauge or 24 gauge these two gauges are like middle. I sometimes use 24 for parallel builds or 26 for twisting but my goto wires are 22 gauge or 20 gauge but I 99% build low and use drippers plus most of my wire is flatwireUK wire. If you would like to try these gauges without going to the trouble of buying a reel I will have a look what I gave and be happy to send you some to try before you buy.

@johnnyace, I can't take the credit for my choices of tanks, as there were several that were highly recommended in a thread on mtl vaping and I went with the recommendations.:18: To be honest, I'm not one of those people who would disregard a product because it doesn't look the part. I'm much more interested in the products performance than its looks, so hopefully its performance considerably outweighs it looks, or I'm gonna be a little pished orf.:17: The more you take it apart and put it back together you'll find the touch it requires to put it back together. If the deck is bigger than v1 it is a bonus, as mine is a little fiddly, but manageable. The more you often you have it apart, rebuild it, re-wick it and put it back together, the easier it becomes.

@crunchynut, I had a bit of a brain fart moment and ordered 24 & 26 gauge from stealthvape.:11: I do have a dripper, which has a lovely large deck to build on, but I usually use that for testing my samples and usually before they're ready.:11: Thank you for your very kind offer, but I hope what I have coming will get me started.

Me st productive coil I used was made by my friend and was a spiral coil that looked like a cooking hob. The cotton easy packed around it and didn't look that good, amazed at how good it vapes though ! Great flavour and big clouds. The wire was basic kanthol but unsure on the guage

Looking good, i'd suggest to try get them a bit closer to the middle. Most important thing is if it vapes good then it is good.
Maybe order a few pre-build coils to try them out and decide what you want to DIY? Just for comparison, try an alien coil, claptons, tiger, juggernaut and all that stuff. Then decide what you like most and aim to replicate those?
