Well I eventually got round to building my first box mod and I'm quite chuffed with the results.
It's only one of the fasttech enclosure and clone dna 30 chips,I didn't want to dive into anything to adventurous for a 1st build.
I started by soldering wire to the switches,to the board's and the 510 then epoxied everything that needed epoxied, then just had to join the wires up,that's when I had my only snafu,a wee bit of solder dropped off the end of the iron onto the contacts for the screen ribbon and I couldn't find my desoldering pump but apart from the screen not working the it vapes great.
It's all experience for when I build my next one! Good work mate. Unfortunate about the screen. Is it possible to buy a replacement or would you need to buy a whole dna30 again? I'm hoping to do my first build soon. Just need to free up some cash, and more importantly figure out how to do it.

I doubt the screen is damaged, just the connections shorted you can hold molten solder on the cable with no problems. He could probably flick it off with the iron tip when molten. But as you say you can replace the screen easlily, this is how I know the cable can cope with molten solder as I didn't have a wide tip I used a blob of solder to spread the heat when I replaced one.

Well done GScott1979 on your first build.

Cheers tobywonkanobi and @vapin bad,I tried to use the tip of the iron to get the solder off but it wasn't having it and after a few attempts I wasn't wanting to chance putting to much heat into the board. daleson I used a 22mm varitube,I didn't have a tap so I just drilled the case out to just over 10mm and epoxied it in and earthed to the enclosure
