So I bought two sizes of Kanthal A-1 wire- 28 and 34 gauge. And I have a VW/VV (both) K200 to vape off. I was wondering what resistance/voltage I should go for when making the coil. I know I'll have to tweak it to get everything just right, but I'm looking for a ballpark to start from. I'm looking to get fairly large (by that I mean as large as possible) clouds from my setup. I just need to know what you guys would recommend for resistance. And any other input would be nice as well.

Does the k200 have a safety feature that cuts out below a certain resistance ? If you're unsure you could try for something from say, 1ohm to 1.5ohm.

I'm pretty sure mine doesn't. If it does its really low. The guy I got it from was saying his was at around 1 ohm

Going low low resistance isn't really necessary with vv/vw devices as you have the flexibilty to adjust your vape to suit. Any resistance below 2.0ohms down to the limit of your device will work well. That's a pretty big range of tolerance as far as the ohms go, which leaves you less to think about so that you can channel whatever effort is required into sussing out the best style of coil build (heat/surface area/wick type) that gives you the vaping experience that you enjoy.
