Hi all, I'm fairly new here and thought I'd say hello. Today is my 6th day of vaping and my first day without a rollup. I've only had a morning and night rolly for the past few days, but I've been vaping like a mad thing gone mad with madness. I'm finding it great that I can "smoke" in the house and at work etc, but I'm a bit worried that I'm just creating an even more hard to break addiction for myself. I have been using the vv itaste express starter kit and I'm loving it but have ordered a couple of SD keyrings for work etc so as to be a bit less conspicuous.. I'm finding I've already spent a fortune ordering cartos, juices and gadgets! Today was a bit disappointing as I'd decided not to smoke any tobacco... When I arrived home there was a package of three juices that I'd oredered on Monday and I was excited to get into them. I washed out one of my clearos and packed it with coconut twist and sparked it up.. Boy was I disappointed! It was like sucking a fizzy sweet and had no hint of coconut at all. Now the reason I ordered it (30mls!) was because I had been sent a small sample of it when I bought my starter kit. I decided then that I could stop tobacco and happily vape that stuff all day. the sample ran out at the weekend and I was so keen to get some more.. Imagine my disappointment when it wasn't the same thing. Of the other two bottles I ordered, one arrived half empty, with no sign of leakage in the packet and the other was pretty rancid tasting too. I ended up buying a vanilla bog standard juice from a street vendor just to keep me going (I've found that I don't like the tobacco flavours alone very much although I was a heavy smoker for 25 years.. I have enjoyed mixing some fruity flavour with some tobacco)...
So now I'm wondering if maybe my taste buds have been so seriously affected by stopping smoking that I can't tell if I have the same juice that I ordered or not... I'm a bit nervous about ordering more juices without knowing what they are like.... and I'm SerioUSLy craving the original juice I received as a sample. I had emailed the vendor with a couple of questions about my order before it was sent but have had no reply so I don't feel like taking it up with them. I'm vaping a few improvised mixes at the minute but they aren't quite hitting that sweet spot that I had been enjoying and that is leaving me feeling on a bit of a hang!
Welll.. Sorry for the looooong introductory post and the whinging but I wanted to get it off my chest .. Don't know anyone in real life who vapes that I can have a moan to!
Happy Vaping otherwise and hope to be on the forums again soon!
John

Hiya and welcome. Your taste buds will be on a roller coaster ride for the first 6 weeks or so whilst they heal. Also the new stuff might be "fresher", some liquids are like fine wine and improve with age (steeping). 1/2 filled bottles sound dodgy though. Check out our reviews for some pointer of good juice (and ones to avoid). Lastly vaping is an addiction but more than that, for many of us I becomes a hobby and a really fun one at that :)

Hey @johnners, dont worry about the long posts.................I am the master of them :grin2:

@Purplefowler is spot on with her comments, and find it ironic that she talks about some liquids being like fine wine, as PF, is our resident 'fine wine' as she has become glorious with age..........she is the nicest 25 year old I know :)

I would personally recommend 'strong flavours' until your tastebuds calm down, and keep the juices you have even if you dont like them, as in a few weeks when things settle down, the ones I thought I didnt like, I found to be lovely. Your body will sort itself out, that I can promise :)

:welcome1: to PoTV.

Hiya and welcome to the Planet, that`s quiet some intro and interesting reading, congrats on the switch, :) .

Welcome @johnners!
Half bottles do sound a bit dodgy to be honest, may be worth sending them an email asking for an explanation. If you've not opened it already (I guess you have), then it may be worth sending a picture as well. All of the juices i've bought have plastic covering over the lid, so, if the others did and the half empty one didn't, may have been used for a taster within store and "thrown back in the pile" :(

Aw you'll make me blush! Mind you hopefully I've got a bit more to go before I hit my peak! The irony is that I don't drink so can't even enjoy the delights of a fine wine-but eliquid hits the spot so I'm not moaning :D

congrats on the switch and dont be disheartened think of it this way, yes they were not what you expected but move on and try something else after all you health is the thing here.

I am quite likey as I have now found a range I really like and its great also found out quite quickly I like to vape fruits.

I too have a spent money on some that I just wont vape (or at least I dont think so) but thats part of finding what ya like. I suspect that it may need steeping also as they do get better generally with age from what I have read and have limited experience of.

Oh and Welcome

Hello and welcome johnners agree with the rest you taste buds are going to be all over the place for the next few weeks, best to buy samples or smaller quantities as it may take a while to find your juice of choice, I used to crave a tobacco like flavour but now have turned to the sweet side and even menthol of which I would never have smoked.

What area of the planet do you reside?
