First DIY Juice too harsh - Please advise why...

Hi.

I mixed my first few batches of DIY juice over the past few days, all have been menthol.

I made my menthol concentrate using crushed up BP/EP/USP grade menthol crystals filled 1/3 up a 10ml bottle, and dissolving in PG.

All batches were 100% VG except for the few drops of menthol concentrate.

1st was 12mg, then I made 8mg, then I made 4mg.

that was 1.5ml, then 1ml, then 0.5ml of 72mg Nic base

All are really really harsh on my stilare v2 clone @ 0.55 Ohm.

I've previously used several premixed 8mg 90% VG juice in the stilare @ similar resistance, and found it to not have enough throat hit for me, so I don't know what's going on?

I've rebuilt the atty, but its still the same, could it be the trace amounts of tap water left in the bottles after I've rinsed them? Should I let them dry?

Its pretty annoying, because I relapsed onto the fags for the past 3 months, and I'm trying to get back into the vape, but I cant mix myself somthing usable

No suggestions as to why it has turned out harsh, have you tried a higher resistance build to see if that reduces the throat hit?

Doesnt hurt my throat I guess, its very high up my my chest that feels like its been hit hard, and makes me need to cough. Small tokes are ok, but trying to take a long one is a no go.

Could give it a go. Would probs need some new wire though, cos I'm already @ 8 3mm coils, and my atty doesnt really do single coil, not sure I can get away with many more coils.

Assuming you're using lung hits (mouth to lung would be impossible), I can only suggest it's your crystals.

Were they bought as a vaping product or as a general use product?

You could try closing the airflow right down and drawing more slowly - the more air that gets into your vapour, the harder it hits your chest, and this will be magnified with something as sharp as menthol.

Recoiled to 0.75, and its fine now.

Guess I'm just too much of a pussy for 25w lol.
