What's new

first Ti build?

I'm all confused now. Is it the wire wizard part of steam engine that one looks at for TCRs? That's where I went and found this for 316ss:

Is that correct and if so, would that mean an input on the vtc mini of 0088 in the TCR settings? It's not a great vape at that, nor is 0091. What am I doing wrong?

88—95 is within the range for 316. are you locking the resistance?

Thanks for that. I've just rebuilt my coils and 92 seems to be working fine. I've stopped locking the resistance on the vtc mini now, which seems to be working out fine.

Ive always locked my resistance using temp mode as most people used to say it will mess up the vape if its unlocked. Now everyone seems to say keep it unlocked!

Does it actually make a difference?

Short answer: it depends on the mod.

The confusion is due interchangeable use of the terms "lock" and "calibrate". A coil must be correctly calibrated. Some mods calibrate and lock simultaneously (e.g. IPV D2). Mods that use the "same coil/new coil" prompt system work a bit differently - you calibrate by selecting "new coil" and it will not recalibrate until you select "new coil" again (it will not randomly recalibrate itself). In this case all the lock feature does is disable the "new coil/same coil" prompt, so locking it is unnecessary (but convenient if you are regularly mounting/remounting the atty and don't want to be asked same coil/new coil every time).
