Flavouring

Has anyone used normal bake shop flavours?

If so what were the results?

I use normal food flavours all the time. See this link.

Beau Product Concentrated High Quality Edible Food Flavourings Bake Stable | eBay

Under half the price of specialist flavouring and more importantly you don't get stung for £3.99 postage which the "specialists" love to charge.

Most bakers flavours don't contain oil, orange is usually the exception.

However I do have to buy Capella Vanilla Custard which is not available from my supplier.

I have found no difference in flavour or strength nor have friends and family who have tried my mixes.

The prices do look very good, so which flavours have you used, at what % gives you good results? Do you blend flavours or only use one at a time? It's a reassuring start to see PG and alcohol on their contents list. I found Beau products a while back now but haven't used any to date so I'm very interested in your feedback.
I'm wary of using a supplier that by appearances has no idea that their products are being used by vapers and consequently will have done no examination of flavourings for known problem chemicals like diacetyl. Most of the vaping specialists have done this research, at no little cost, and found alternative flavourings.
Some people will write off the diacetyl risk, having smoked for decades previously, others would prefer to avoid that risk. What's your position on this and what, if any, questions have you asked this vendor? Which flavourings other than orange use oil in your experience? I assume they'd be obvious enough as they'd separate and float on the PG/alcohol, but there's perhaps a clue in the listing of creamy butter, popcorn, apple, morello cherry, lime and madagascan vanilla as not natural. Orange isn't on that list though ...

P&P is a consideration, Chef's Vapour charge just £1 for 4 x 10ml bottles which I'd consider very fair. I don't think any vendor likes the postage rates any more than we do.

I had looked at several suppliers (all bookmarked in PC) and several had listed their products as being PG based which is where me original question arose from.

As yourself Scrumpox I'll be very interested in Tallones responses to these questions as the price per 10ml as by far one of the factors to be looked at and that link certainly places it in a good place.

It's good when it's good, it's bad when it's bad.
£/10ml is one way of looking at it. But I always assess the potential for waste.

Say you don't like the results at all ... £3 on 10ml or £4 on 40ml ... I'd rather waste £3 than £4 ... and there's a better market for moving on vaping concentrates than food concentrates, so you might get £2 back on the vaping version. And you might have to eat a fucktonne of cupcakes with the other ...
