Geekvape Aegis L200 Coil Problem

I recently started vaping and needed to change my coil so I bought 0.4 ohm Z coils because my vape has a Zeus tank but for whatever reason this coil is reading at 0.37 ohm not 0.4 and I’m constantly getting the “New coil?” pop-up on the screen. I’ve taken the coil out and put it back in, no change. The coils are also 50-60W and I vape at 55.5W, yet I feel as though I’m inhaling more liquid than vapor. Is it a problem with the coil that can be fixed or what?

Hello @jax0nkyle and welcome to POTV! The reading on 0.37 is fine, that's pretty close to 0.4. The new coil issue is probably related to the fact the tank is flooding (which is why you're getting juice). If I was experiencing this problem, I'd take the tank apart, give everything a good clean, make sure all o-rings are in good shape and in place, and put the tank back together. Also make sure that there is no juice welling in the 510 on your mod. Basically clean it all up.

When you first put the coil in, are you priming the coil? You should put some juice on the cotton (just enough to wet it) before putting it in the tank, and leave it for a few minutes before vaping. Also, you should start at a low wattage (25-30) and slowly increase the wattage until you get the vape you're looking for.

Try those steps, and get back with the results. Hopefully that clears things up. Someone else may have other ideas. Good luck!

Thanks a lot this actually fixed the problem! It’s reading at .4 now and it’s nice and clean and working well!

Hi @jax0nkyle and welcome to the planet.

coil readings will fluctuate all the time and show slightly higher or lower than the actual coil ohm, this is entirely normal and it does it for every coil out there.
Hack400 to the rescue :D

priming coil and starting at half the wattage you want to vape at and then turning up slowly helps bed in the coil and even though not much flavour or cloud the coil is still heating up and bedding it in.

I stand corrected, it’s messing up again. Now it won’t even let me hit it whatsoever. The ‘New coil?’ Pop-up stays there and doesn’t go away at all now. I’ve powered off the vape and turned it back on. I also tried to replace the coil with a different 0.4 ohm coil and that coil won’t even pop into the tank which is weird because my tank IS a Zeus tank and the 0.4 ohm coils I have are Z mesh coils. I’m incredibly confused as to why the other coils aren’t popping in and why I’m having problems

are you clicking on new coil each time. if so try clicking no for old coil. if the coil is not sitting correctly in the two little groves then it will give that message.
i only use the 0.2 and i get this now and again if ive left it for a while without puffing. guess it could be a known issue but not enough to say its faulty.

I tried clicking both and it’s not doing anything. I got a pack of 5 coils and tried putting in the third one and the third one seems to work perfectly fine which is really confusing. It popped right in the tank with no issue. The other two weren’t popping into the tank correctly so I think that might’ve been the problem. Kind of sucks if I bought a 5 pack for only 3/5 of the coils to work

strange not heard any complaints about the z coils. could be QC problems. lets just hope they arent going down the same route as smok.
ive got about 15 0.2 coils left and had no issues with them so far. the L200 and even the original legend does have the out of the blue asking if its a new coil now and again. with the original if im continuosly vaping on it its fine but if i put it down for 15 minutes and go back to it it asks if new coil again. that happened around 6 times yesterday but clicking on it its then fine. not had the issue you had.
