Ok guys I can build on my drippers no problem and I can recoil my tanks but I've tried to coil 2 different genesis tanks ud agi and Olympus with #400 mesh .3 kanthal 3 wraps and the top coil burns so hot it burns and breaks the kanthal I've oxidized the wick and everything.
What am I doing wrong?

More wraps. I use 6 wraps of .3. Also make sure your wick isn't too tight in the hole. Gaps equals juice

I wrap my coil around a drill before pushing the wick though. Makes it easier to take out and dry burn the coil.

you can always try a microcoil and cotton build in your genny.. bit of an arse to do but essentially i took apart my rsst and a strip of cotton up from the tank then screwed it all together, made a micro coil on a mini screwdriver then using some tweezers pulled the cotton through the micro coil, finally attached the legs to postive and negative post and made som adjustments to get it as straight as possible then soasked the cotton and pulse fired.
its not 100% straight be any means but worked a treat as the micro coil was long enough to have the shorted possible tails and angled slightly leaning in towards centre post

I got a genny for free last week, I've tried building it up almost every night, used up all my kanthal in the process and I still can't get the stupid thing to work properly, if I don't tilt it upside to let juice flow through the cotton or mesh to the coil I just get dry hits, even then I get 4 good pulls before I need to tilt it up again to let juice flow through, wide wick, thin wick, rip tripper style, automatic dripper style, tried every one I can find a tutorial video for and then some. I've pretty much given up with it, stuck it on my shelf and went back to my fogger v3 and KFL+. Don't think I'll be bothering trying to build it up again until I've got plenty of kanthal and boredom has over come me.

coincidentally, I am in total agreement with you

Genny's are one of those attys you need to get right. I get a full cloud on every pull but it needs to be right.
Not too low on the ohms and plenty of space around a hollow wick. Works perfectly for me.

Hollow wick? Am I using too much mesh it's about 4 deep at the mo

alternative option to hollow wick for continuous juice flow. get a length of either silica or a 2mm rolled length of cotton wool. cust a piece of mesh around 20mm x 30mm and flat flame the mesh. fold over one edge of the mesh first to give a smooth edge, the roll the shorter length(20mm ) around the cotton or wick so you end up witha tube of mesh 30mm long with a wick interior.
trim wick top and leave about 2mm sticking out bottom of the mesh and put it in your genny. add a 4-5 wrap coil , check for hotspots and you should be good to go. the wick adds as a feeder for your juice and you shouldnt get any dry spots at all ( oh and make sure before you wrap the mesh around your wick or cotton to juice the wick up a bit first )

I use about 30mm wide piece of SS mesh and it works perfectly. I wouldn't mess about with undoing holes or you'll end up with a pocket full of sticky crap.
