hey guys, i just signed up on here to get to grips with everything ecig. ive been stopped smoking for two and a half months now and just by using an ecig - although i have no idea what any of the 'lingo' means (noob) i even don't really know what my ecig is all i know is it is a 'evo' which i changed the tank bit at the top for a better version because previous ones i had gotten with the pack had leaked. i am a girl and i dont wanna come across as a dumb blonde (because im not) but any advice and tips would be much appreciated! even if thats recommending me a better e-cig than ive already got. thank you in advance! :lovesign:

just a note to say the picture is from a while back from when i had the crappy tank that used to leak!

hello fellow northerner ! Im pretty much in the same boat as you and have just joined today !

I'm unable to advise as to 'a better e-cig' as there are way too many to choose from, and many are just as good as each other. For someone new to vaping and wishing to upgrade the best place to start is by fixing a budget, and then narrowing down kit within that budget limit. E-cig stuff is all very competatively priced these days, so even with a very low budget, something suitable will show up.

My advice (also as a female person! :D) would be to hang around, read up on site on anything that interests you - in fact, just read through some of the forum posts and the Wiki anyway, look at what vendors are selling and don't be worried about asking questions :D

There's so much to learn and as the technology advances rapidly and new types of battery and tank seem to come out every week , it can all seem a bit much some times!

The kit most of us recommend for new vapers, if you haven't already tried it, is the Evod (is that the one you have? The names can be a bit confusing to start with :) ) this is a type of tank and a matching battery, it's cheap, easy to use and the heating coils can be replaced quickly and easily (they will taste burnt when they need replacing). The only downside is that some juices might crack them, but there's a list of juices that do that in the Wiki. I started with this type of vaping device and still use it if I just want something to pop in my bag when I'm out in the day as it's light and easy to take about.

You might see some members talking about 'mods' - these aren't the moderators (well not usually! :P) but a more advanced type of battery. There are various types and many models from ones with electronic controls to ones that are simply a tube holding a battery (but not like the ego/evod battery you normally use!). Depending on how technical you are, the easiest one to try is a variable voltage (VV) type; usually with these, the base is a dial which you turn to increase the voltage delivered to the coil (heating element in the tank)- the more voltage, the warmer the coil. Too much voltage and you juices (e-liquids) will taste burnt, but the right amount and your juices will taste lovely! :) The one I started with is like this one http://www.ukecigcabin.com/product/twist-1300 - there's also a 'marketplace' here on POTV where you might find a bargain, and many vendors offer discount codes - have a look at the menu bar under the site logo at the top of each page.
