Gtx one coils 1.2 not good 0.8 good for MTL?

My input was just that... my own experience based on my own taste.

Many mates here likes the 1.2 regular coil; maybe its not just for me as I dont do MTL regularly.

7/8w is insufficient for any GTX coil. Have that in mind. Especially under 0.8ohm.
Also, I must insist about the 0.6 one; power a bit down and airflow adjusted to your liking and I think you could be surprised with the result.

It's even more anecdotal by me as I've only used the one 1.2 mesh and 0.8 but what you first said made sense even if your coming from a DTL route and I'm not.

Regarding 7/8W being under powered, I am not denying this especially as the 0.8 ohm says suitable for 12-20w. Despite this it seemed to work really well for me at 7w.

Going to go back and try a fresh 1.2 when I'm waiting on the 0.8 ohm. I don't know what it is with my back to front experience I'm using the 1.2 right now at 10 w and it's no flavor whatsoever. If I top up the tank with fresh juice, for a few minutes I get some nice flavours going but soon enough back to nothingness verging on a hint of burntness if anything.

Will persevere anyway. Still got to try out the zikde tank too. Was very impressed with the 0.8 ohm for flavor and longetivity despite definitely not being set at the right power - although as long as it's not dangerous I don't see much issue trying again. Definitely could have been imagining how good it was idk vape stuff can be very fickle as everyone knows.

I think if the 0.8 works for you at 7w and you like it then vape away. Coil ratings are just recommendations and you can set it how you like, despite the recommended wattage. You could try the 1.2 at a lower wattage as well to see how it goes. It sounds like the way you vape is burning it out so if you experiment with different wattages then you might find one that suits you perfectly.

I regularly use coils that are recommended for 60/70w at 40 or 50 and it's just good for me.

Yup think that's exactly the problem - I'm prone to burn them out too through being at times chain vaping.

The Nord 2 held up fine but I don't think the coils are meant to last that long anyway so obviously not ideal having to change every couple of days depending how much I vape (they were fine until they were not). The sceptre I've got more into but initially didn't seem as good as the Nord. Think it's probably more of an all rounder being well built, cheap coils that last longer.... However due to my vaping definitely don't always cope chain vape... If they start to taste a bit off I can leave for a bit and when I return back to being nice.

Like you say I'll try to play around and keep an open mind to find what works... The gtx coils seemed to have a good rep as far as longetivity goes which is good but think I'll wait for a bit before trying the 1.2 again. Maybe I'll try with a different liquid (65pg/35 VG) that I have a few still left from previous vapmire vape mixes, cheers

I prefer the 1.2 Ohm coil for MTL but I also like the 0.8 Ohm for a different more intense vape, each has their own benefits, the 0.8 will produce more of a draw so more of a throat hit and higher juice consumption, I use nic salts and the 0.8 is perfect for my morning headrush vape using 20mg but I can't hack it all day so the 1.2ohm is my main one throughout the day.

I cannot get the 1.2 ohm coil to deliver decent flavour under 10w though, 11w is my minimum for that coil.

But it comes down to exactly as @Simon G says, if the 0.8 ohms works for you then stick to that, the 1.2 ohm pack you've bought will come in handy for when you need a longer battery life when you're out & about. (EDIT - if you stick to 7w then that point is mute)

I like the 1.2ohm regular coil, it doesn't last long though, probably because I tend to chain vape.

Good advice as ever... Been back on the spectre since yesterday. Going to clean out the gtx tank. Definitely will give the 1.2 a bit of time on a higher watt but suspect at the moment the 0.8 works better for me.

I also do well revolving what I'm using seems to keep things fresh.

I definitely am prone to chain vape too so imagine I'd get similar results as @andi52
The Nord 2 were real killers there it seemed totally loved otherwise, the spectre not such as wow in my opinion but more forgiving on coils over a period

I bought the regular 1.2 coils and I found they didn't put out much flavour, dissapointing in fact.Ive now ordered .8 mesh coils to see if they're any better.
