Guide to steep ?

any vendor that you're paying more than £3 per 10ml for should be pre-steeped, if not then you're being ripped off. it's like buying a premium bottle of scotch only to be told to leave it for 10 years, well, not quite but you get the point ;)

For DIY mixing I've found the microwave method to be the easiest. Short bursts (low power) with the lid loose or removed until it gets *warm* to the touch. Shake well and leave lid off overnight in a cupboard, shake again and reseal.

Most juices are acceptable within 24 hrs in my experience.

Tobacco's, custards and more complex flavours tend to improve with time (a week or two) and can't really be rushed but it depends on how patient you are! - test every day until your satisfied.

Generally if I buy a pre-made juice (which is rare) I don't bother, just shake and vape!

They are, well they should be, to me that's part of what you are paying for and if they aren't then I think it should be explicitly stated. Most conversations on here are about juice you've made yourself.

Ah, I thought steeping was referring to all e-liquids including 'shop bought'. It makes sense then that it's just for diy liquid. Thanks for clearing it up. I can put all the tops back on the bottles then :)

lol, yeah I would ... unless is some kind of 'bargain' juice then it should be ready to vape. :) ... I'd still keep it out of direct sunlight/extreme heat/cold though, I just keep mine in the cupboard at room temp.

The thing with shop bought juice is it'll have been mixed ages ago, sat in a warehouse, on delivery truck to retailer, on retailers shelves till you buy. That'll have been the steep it'll have needed

I mix my own Heisenberg for my ADV and a Vanilla Custard with Strawberry for a change in the evenings. I usually mix about a months worth in one go, then when I've got about a weeks worth left of that batch, I'll mix the next batch, and so on...

The first bottle of a batch has been steeped for a little over a week, but the last bottle has therefore steeped for a month. I never taste any difference in the first or last. That leads me to believe that if they're thoroughly mixed and ready in a week, leaving them longer doesn't really make them any more mixed.

Scotch may improve with age, but I'm not sure if ejuice does. Scotch doesn't have a 'use by' or 'sell by' date. Would ejuice 'go off' if left too long?

from memory juice has a best before date which is 1year after the manufacture date,i have used eliquid that has past its best before by 3months and it tasted fine but i dare say 1year past expiry might not fare so well

I steep all my juices in the airing cupboard, I leave them in there and take them out when I need them.

Have a month surplus and chuck everything you buy in the cupboard for a month, simples!
