Hana upgraded

Is that hot glue all over the inside (I've not come across epoxy or super glue that sets that clear)?

I did one about a month ago with reverse battery protection, hot-spring, high temp extra flexible 20 awg power wiring, sealed charging board & screen, fibre optic for the charging LED, more recessed buttons and magnetic cover. No hot glue.

Delicious.

Most epoxy glue sets clear if you mix it right so you don't get any bubbles in it. Best epoxy Ive come across is gorilla epoxy. Why use epoxy on electrical components ?? Just a real pain to get of if something goes wrong or needs to be swapped out, hot glue is better imo than epoxy for electrical stuff that may need to be replace plus it doesn't set rock hard so it works as a shock absorber. There is flexible epoxy but still a pain to get off.

Why not just use a keystone battery holder much better and easier than a hot spring. Hot springs are only good if they are fully compressed and always need to be modified so the compress right.

He did a good job, only problem I can see with it is that the 510 positive wire might to wear on the switch threads from the up and down movement of the spring-loaded positive pin and may short.

Nice mod be proud :)

Thx BaDaBooM ;-)

Hana is a totally different mod with the anti vandal switch and SS spring loaded 510 upgrade. Everybody has problems with the cheap brass 510, its press fitted so it real pain to get out "when" it wears out. That varitube will last for years and if it ever wears out its real easy to replace.

BaDaBooM & @hodge40 if I come over as negitive about your work I appoligise as that was not my itent, as BaDaBooM says you should be proud.

BaDaBooM I didn't use epoxy at all, but hot glue is not great at staying stuck to non porous surfaces unless you have a quite large area on both sides (what makes it easier to remove as you say) and it softens with heat, maybe it's better these day and I'm just living in the past. I wouldn't use hot glue myself just like I wouldn't use Polymorph, but don't think it wrong if applied well (except holding in the Hcigar DNA35 fire button), just there are better alternatives IMO. I used super glue and Sugru (high temp, water proof, easy to cut if something goes wrong and shock absorbing) on mine.

The hot spring is just an added benefit from the reverse battery protection, which is why I didn't use a Keystone and that I have read that they can tear your battery wrapper. Surly hot springs need a bit of room to be able to collapse and break the circuit, it's main use is for the inner radius to be larger than the positive poll on the battery. And the flat terminal at the positive end won't make contact with flat bottom batteries that have the wrap extending to the outer of the base.

Thanks for the suggestions, but the way I did it works as long as I use batteries with flat bottoms & wrapping extending on to the base. The way Zen does it with the ZNA is the best IMO, but nipple top batteries only.
