Happy Flavour Accidents ...

That doesn't sound good ...

Hoping for a new Vimto ... will most probably end up with Washing Up Liquid ... smells great tastes awful
Have a look on e-LR there are quite a few recipes on there, dont expect too much, most mixed fruit juices are more of an impression of naturals rather than the flavor you would expect if you took a bite of the actual fruit(s), and regardless of any notes you may see along with the recipe fruits are always better after a steep, all in my opinion of course.

Aye discovering that. Some recipes I've played with just 'work' , some need tweaking until okay and some down the sink because they're nothing like the 'real thing'
Currently vaping a blackcurrant and apple made with Vapable concentrate ... was pretty bland and muted until I added 1.5% of Inawera blackcurrant ... now it's zingy.

All a learning curve and keeps the postman busy

If you persist with the mixing you will soon learn that not all concentrates are created equal. I use Vapable for a lot of my supplies, not always their own brands, which are very good, but they have a catalogue of re bottled flavors which should suffice for a vast number of the juices that you`ll want to make.
I dont think I`ll get into too much trouble when I say that I`ve run side by side comparisons between Flavour Art and Arte Italiano and the only difference i can tell is the price.

The only time iv experienced a surprise was when id forgot what flavour I had in the tank and topped it up with a different one. A couple of times I thought "thats nice" then realised what id done. Oddly when I tried to replicate the taste by purposely mixing them in a bottle it always ended in failure.

Initial tongue test of the mix is interesting ... vapable or not I'll find out with a sample 10ml mix.

My wife thinks it tastes like penicillin.
Apparently, telling her she took enough of it in her younger days make me a cheeky barsteward not a funny one ...

I had a short dabble at mixing around 4 years ago but didn't have much success (in retrospect I was buying flavours from eBay probably wasn't the best way to start out). I quickly gave up on mixing to recipes and moved on to 'bottle shot' style and, generally, I found most to be reasonable and I did repeat buy several of the bakery/desert range.

The only one I found totally unvapeable was a rhubarb crumble and custard, even after 3 months of steeping it was nasty and harsh. It remained forgotten in the back of my fridge as I had gone back to buying shortfills that were better than the stuff I was knocking up.

Some time later I bought a Malaysian shortfill called Frooti Tooti Husky Honeydew that came close to making me hurl. I decided to mix it with the Rhubarb Crumble and Custard (I tried to vape the Rhubarb again just in case it had improved with age - it hadn't) and after mixing and being left to blend for another week the end result was amazing - and I had an almost full 200ml shortfill bottle.

I was quite proud of this accidental concoction and a friend had a sample. His comment to me was "You fucking animal, what's wrong with you".

Unfortunately the eBay shop I bought the Rhubarb from stopped trading so I couldn't get any more...

I've only been mixing my own the past 3 months. About 800ml. Vaped some, binned some, the rest steeping.

Some have been great ... some more than ok ... some pretty rank. Not having luck with raspberry, all have been very chemical tasting
Cost wise if I bin 100ml out of every 800 ml I'm still ahead instead of buying shortfills etc. Plus hopefully some can be saved with tweaking ... if not, it gives me a chance to practice wicking

From my limited experience I would totally ignore any suggestion that fruit flavours are essentially shake and vape as I found them ALL to be chemically and nasty for the first two weeks (and they improved if left a month. With deserts - a minimum of 6 weeks, and custards up to 3 months). The only disclaimer is that I was buying flavours from an unknown eBay source rather than from a known reputable retailer with a track history.

I wouldn't give up on the Raspberry just yet as it COULD improve if ignored for a few months. Unfortunately, sometimes they don't....
