Health problems since vaping???

Only one major effect I got when I first started vaping way back was mouth sores, found out im not one for high PG so stick with 80/20 or higher. 70/30 is the absolute lowest I can go. Never had nose bleeds but would sometimes get a very dry nose if I kept nose exhaling, but that was a habit I soon broke out of. The health benefits I gained well make up for these though.

I've heard of nicotine causing headaches. I've also read about vaping causing dehydration (which can cause headaches). Since I quit the analogs about 18 months ago, I've not experienced any nosebleeds. I would consider getting this checked out if they're occurring regularly.

VG is Hydroscopic ( absorbs water ) so it dehydrates you, might sound obvious but dehydration is the single biggest cause for headaches generally ( think hangovers ) - too much Nic as already mentioned is another good possibility, although you would feel a little sick too most likely?

The comment about bleeding gums is most definitely a true one, I once had an argument with my dentist many moons ago saying my gums didn't bleed so they were fine, and she said that the smoke masked the symptoms of gum disease and that my gums were trashed :)

none of the above detracts from the fact that you should seek proper medical advise!

@paganmaster i took that long to write this you managed to write it in fewer words before i finished...tool

My dentist told me I had gum disease and receding gums, basically quit smoking but expect things to get worse before they get better. She said smoking (and the heat of) kills a lot bacteria that will probably come to life and I will get some pain, bleeding and the like for some time after quitting. She wasn't wrong, but it's been nothing too dramatic (thus far).

Had the gum problems also, was pretty bad at one time but have improved brilliantly, dentist cleaning out the crap from smoking was a nightmare though, put me off smellies for life.

Sometimes I get a really dry mouth at night if I over indulge (usually after a few beers), but it's not too often.
Feel far better than if I'd had a stinky! :)

This has been discussed before, it's possible I may be confusing this with another well known UK Forum, but we've spoken about dry mouth problems and the need to keep hydrated if vaping. Other symptoms can be small mouth ulcers, ( more frequent after moving to ECigs) and there have been mention of other oral complaints- whether from getting spit back E Liquid in the mouth, or from reactions to PG, or in some cases VG. I have begun to suffer from Leukoplakia, but noone ( Dental Surgeon or Oral Medical specialist) can say if this is set off by E Cig vapour, or a throw back to a long term cigarette habit.

I have recent developed mild white tongue, was going to see the doc but it has largely cleared up. Hard to know what caused it, could be the body cleaning itself and its all part of the fun. Maybe all the xmas excess.. ;)

Yes, I'm sure that's not something to be too concerned about.
I tend to avoid getting E Liquids in my mouth, as much as possible.

Thanks for the replies.

I've had a few mouth ulcers as well, seems to be a common thing. A friend tried ecigs and was plagued with toncilitus, so much that it put him in hospital.

I can understand mouth ulcers and sore throats as the ecigs are continual use, you have a vape, put it in your pocket and then vape again, so any dirt or germs on your hands could easily make it into your mouth where as cigarettes are use once.

I used to get nose bleeds as a kid and never since I smoked. I have noticed it can start when I'm stressed, which would be attributed to higher than normal bp, usually when the mother in law is round. It can happy once every month to a month and a half so I'm not overly concerned.

I've also started drinking lots of water, 2 - 3 litres a day and given up fizzy drinks.

Thanks for all the replies.
