Hello!

Having recently realised that I've been smoking for longer than I haven't (if that makes sense) I've decided to go out and buy a proper vaporiser. I've had a couple of different cheap cartomiser pens but they've never stuck, but I got myself a KangerTech EVOD kit with a bunch of different flavours and am really enjoying it. Especially blackcurrant flavour. Haven't had a roll-up for a few days now and am not missing it. Time will tell!

My only slight gripe is that the throat hit tends to be quite harsh. I'm using 12mg flavours and an 18mg golden virginia. I think they are all 70/30 mix. Is it the nicotine content or the mix which makes a difference with the throat hit?

Throat hit is from the PG, so something like a 50/50 mix might be kinder on your throat, different flavours are often harsher too especially in my experience the cheap chinese market stall juices.

Welcome. is it the nic content that makes for a throat hit ? Yes, kinda. It's mostly that & you should be able to tell the difference from one strength to another but it's not completely that simple. There are a lot of variables with vaping, different liquids can give a different experience with different gear. More powerful batteries will give a bigger hit on account of them heating the coil harder & faster but then the coil too can vary & we end up going around in circles a bit. The basic ingredient ratios also contribute. Higher vg levels give a generally smoother vape & higher pg levels can be more harsh & sometimes chemical like.
With the right set up & an acceptance of what vaping is (If anyone knows) ,you can achieve a consistent(ish) experience.
