sadly i think the issue may lie with smok as their QC is crap at best. saying that i never thought id say this but their nord pod is not half bad but their higher wattage mods have not been great in the last coupe of years after they flooded the market with a new mod every few weeks.
im still using 2 alien mods which have been not too bad but like you mention comparing same wattage with the 5 vaporesso mods and the aliens vary so much in flavour but on the vaporesso's they are consistent flavour throughout.
this might be worth bookmarking for future reference when you need a new kit or juice POTV Vendors & Recommended E Liquid Suppliers

Smok..er...yeh....not that many fans of their products on here..as Mr DJ explained. I think Smok business plan is, more style over substance alas. But their Nord pods seem to be okay..but i haven't tried one of those myself..yet.
