Help Please!

I really need some help please from some experiences vapers. I am looking to achieve good flavour, biggish clouds and a WARM vape I have been trying all sorts of variations but not quite getting the sweet spot I am looking for. I have been to an array of vape shops and sellers and never seem to get quite where I want or they try and talk me away from it.

I am running on the Geek Vape Aegis X mod and Arbiter RTA. Should I think about building my own coils, I have read so much information I am completely baffled.

Any help you could give would be much appreciate thanks! =)

Hi @Snoweyxx as @ADDicT says above your kit is capable of what you're looking for if you put the right coils in there so what are you putting in there at the moment and how far away from what you're looking for are they?

It's difficult to give useful recommendations to you as everyone's opinion will differ - what seems 'warm' to you could be lukewarm or insanely hot to others.

Generally the coils I for dual coil attys I use most are Ni80 dual 26 core wrapped with 36 or 38 gauge - but I tend to vape at 65 - 75 watts but if these are good for you is anybody's guess.

Maybe you should consider something like a pack of Coilology 7 - in 1 Performance Coils as there are 7 different types so you may find one you like in these - but these are 3mm internal diameter so make sure these are suitable to fit in your tank without touching together or choking the airflow and giving a crappy vape.

I don't own an Arbiter - what internal diametert coils are you currently using, do they give suitable air restriction or are they too airy for you without closing down the airflow a lot, what wattage do you normally vape at?

The Arbiter is a beast, it wicks fantastically so can't you just turn the wattage up or reduce the airflow a little to warm the vape up?

@ADDicT, @StrawberryRipple I have Ni80 Aliens .11ohms in. ATM I have it at 120w is that pushing it for these coils? I always used to use temp control to get the heat I wanted, but that was when I was using rebuild coils and a different mod, I assumed a better mod and RTA would allow me ability to vary it but I have a to learn and have really nobody to go to for advice so I have been trying to teach myself but finding some things very confusing, and I find vape shops don't listen and just want to sell me something? So hoping you guys can help.

@Crispycritters it sound like the coils I have are almost what u said, and are the best ones I have had in yet but still not quite reaching the heat I want to hit. It looks like they are 27g wrapped with 36g. I have upped the wattage as I say to almost 120 but if close of the airflow I end up with a harsh throat hit as i'm at about 4ml nic.

@Snoweyxx the harsh throat hit is more likely a dry hit, meaning your wicks are not feeding juice to your coils fast enough. 120w would probably be melting my lips tbh, but it depends on how chunky your coils are. I guess they are multi core claptons or something like that if you are getting 0.11ohms.

In that case your only option is to move to stainless steel.
Look for something tricore 26g - 28g with a 36g or 38g outer wrap and youll need 6 turns which sould come out around 0.10 - 0.11ohms

I'm guessing you're currently using triple 27 core Aliens? It sounds like they are the type of coils that can cope with 120 Watts (the dual 26 core I like would be useless for you as they can't cope with that wattage).

To be honest 120 Watt vaping in an RTA is almost double the wattage I vape at - so what you consider warm would probably cremate my tonsils. I 'm guessing what you consider warm is frickin HOT to most people - I wouldn't recommend pushing an RTA any higher than you are as you will probably cook the juice.

If you want to vape above 120 I think you should be looking at RDAs - something that can hold big exotic coils like staple staggered fused claptons (don't buy these for your RTA) and be capable of running at 150 Watts. I have no idea what to recommend as I'm a lightweight vaper that never goes above 80 Watts, but maybe others know of a few drippers that might be suitable.

@ADDicT, @StrawberryRipple and @Crispycritters from what I can see the tub they came in says 5wrap 3mm that all the info I have but it's dual coiled so it's reading at 0.07? The other tank I have is the Profile Wotofo which takes mesh would that fair any better? Not really considered RDA's as yet but perhaps I should then?
