Help with ohm readings

Hi all. Just built first dual coil with .25 kanthal 5 raps each side on 2mm silica, checked the poles on meter reading 1ohm, but checked ohms on rda and reading 11.5ohm. With 1 off that's 10.5ohm. This can't be right can it ? Thanks for any help

So u think meters had it?, put a new battery in it as the ohms where all over the place but that's what it settled at

is your meter auto-ranging or does it have a dial?

i ask, because 1ohm for just the leads sound terribly high...0.1ohm would be more in line, so perhaps you just have the dial in the wrong place

It's got a dial on it, set to 200 is the lowest. Popped another battery in. Leads are .8ohm and made a new single coil, same wire 5 raps again now giving me 2.0ohm so 1.2 then. Coil is no different to the first I made so no idea. Should be ok 5 raps for a single?

that sounds about right...1.2 or thereabouts is what I would get on a 4/5/6 depending on how tight etc. Anything higher or lower and I would start looking at why that was.

in fact, most of what I make I just wrap and stop when it looks right, and once built and metered its always somewhere between 1.0 or 1.3

Yeah it's sound now must have been bad battery I put in the first time, I can't see the coils be that high. Thanks!!

Also without starting a new topic I wanted to list some eliquids in the classified part but there's no option to start a topic just says subscribe. Do you know why this. Thanks again
