Ok.......I was fortunate to receive one of these today for a test & review. Now this will be done in 3 sections. Firstly, appearance, and tinkering around. Secondly as a Tank and thirdly as a dripper. These will be completely honest reviews, and I purchased a new camera, just to try and get the pictures a bit better, but I still am no David Bailey
Right, appearance, I open the parcel to look at this: -
First impressions of the packaging was ok, and I understand that packaging is just that, and does not affect the performance of the unit inside, but after the protank, I would like to think it would be a little better
As well as the Unit, you also receive a little packet consisting of 3 x O-Rings, Allen Key, some SS Mesh, Silica Wick and some Resistance wire. Excellent, this is what we will use when doing the subsequent reviews on this unit. A little more wire wouldnt of gone amiss, but at least there is enough in the packet to get you started.
Now onto the AGI itself: -
Now I really like the design of this, it is very elegant whilst being understated, just like Amada Holden. Another plus point is the tank is made out of glass/pyrex, so tank cracking juice will be used for the purposes of the trials
Looking at the top of the unit, this is sealed by O Rings like the AGA-T2 and not a screw thread like the AGA-T+ and also the holes are covered with allen screws, which are free from any burring or swarf.
To me a clue to the build quality, it to look on the inside of any machined component and if it looks blemished or unfinished, then you know quality could be better. As you can see from the photo, I am happy to report this is more than satisfactory.
I found as I was taking it apart, that the threads were solid feeling and was very smooth, so another plus point!
Here it is in Dripper Mode: -
Now, what really appeals to me with this, its its like a 'Transformer' of the Vaping world, it changes into 2 different things, with the minimum of fuss.
Now I had finished playing with the unit, I decided to see what they will look like on top of a SVD, the results were as follows: -
Now this fits a treat, no gaps whatsoever and looks simply stunning! Now for Tank mode: -
Here, there is a 1-2 mm gap, and still satisfactory, but its there.
So far first impressions are good, it simply looks stunning, and is well made, but the proof in the pudding is how it functions.
So is this item a jack of all trades, master of none, or will it beat the AGA-T2 & IGO-L??!!
Well from tomorrow we will find out!
