Horizontech Falcon problem

Hi all,

I’ve recently purchased a Horizontech Falcon Resin edition tank and I’m rather disappointed with it.

I’m a kind of an on-the-go vaper and currently use the Uwell Nunchaku mod and tank for all my vaping needs. However, after weeks of reading gushing reviews on the Falcon, I subscribed to the hype and bought one.

Right... it’s not the worst tank I’ve used, but I’m just not getting this amazing “RTA/RDA” like flavour, as many reviews said. Yes I have tied RDA’s and yes they are amazing, but they don’t fit with my lifestyle at the minute. Put it this way, I’m definitely not getting as good a flavour as I do off my Nunchaku tank!

So my question is: am I doing something wrong?

I’m obviously running it off the Nunchaku mod, which is a single 18650 mod, using LGHB6’s, running it between 70-80w. Yes the battery life is poor, but I knew this before I got it and that wouldn’t bother me if I was getting great flavour. Would a dual battery mod make a difference to the flavour? Is it just not getting enough power?

I’ve tried both mesh (M1 and M2) and both are the same to me! I prime the coils, fill the tank, let it rest for 30 mins, slowly break in the coil, all that jazz!

Does anyone else have this tank and get “amazing” flavour off of it?

I don’t want to come across as a moaner, but I’m relatively new to vaping and with it being such an expensive thing, I’ve kinda got to make all my purchases count and if I can get this tank performing as I thought it could, that’d be amazing.

I’ve yet to try any of the other coils (F1, F2 etc...) so maybe that’s an avenue I could explore?

Maybe it’s just a subjective thing? I don’t know, but as it stands... I’m willing to listen to any offers for it?

Sorry about the long rant

Ive got the original falcon and resin version, don't use both of them now. I didn't get great flavour from the coils either, almost felt like a dry vape.
The Cleito pro with mesh coils is much better.

Hi Mike. Yes, I have it and am getting amazing flavour from it using the M1 coils. I have noticed that the coils take 2-3 days to really shine, which might be because people are saying the coils can last for 5 weeks or more. I have also heard the same people say that the recent batch of coils have been giving up after a week or two so there may be a bad batch out there.

70-80 watts should be the same whatever mod you're using btw, so I doubt that's the problem.

Hi Mike
never appologise about a long post as its always much better than some like help my tank dont work.

i cant help much as i only ordered one from china yesterday so will take a couple of weeks to get here.
im guessing its part to do with being a single battery and your pushing it to its limit of 80watts. always best to have headroom with any kit.
the only single battery mod ive got is istick60w and running at 50watts i was getting a max of 1 hour 10 mlinutes and the lower the battery got the weaker the flavour was.
these newer mods i think should give same output until last of the battery drain.

next question would be what juice are you using and what ratio of vg/pg is it. also have you tried this same juice in another tank at the same wattage to compare flavour.

hopefully other owners will be able to advise better than me.

worth a look

That is interesting. I’ll obviously persevere, so we’ll see. What juices do you vape? Any fool-proof/go-to juices you can recommend?

I’ve tried Dinner Lady (Lemon Tart), Milkman, Wonutz and Met4 Golden Ticket. Yes I did a straight up comparison between the Nunchaku tank and Facon. Nunchaku tasted much better.

even though i love the original uwell tanks ive not tried the nunchaku.
best cloud tank and coils ive got so far are the vaporesso cascade with either the GT mesh coils or the beastly GTM cascade coils.
will be interesting to compare with the falcon.
dinner lady lemon tastes good in any tank. milkman depending on flavour can be 99%vg so no good in tanks. not tried the other 2

I only vape my own juices bud, 70VG and all designed to be quite coil friendly, so not much help to you there.

I've heard dinner lady lemon tart is a bit of a coil killer. I'm vaping on the dinner lady summer holiday juices in my nunchaku at the moment and they are lovely, I think the summer holiday line is suppose to be a bit easier on the coils.

I'll load up my falcon with the same juice and see how it compares. But I also found the nunchaku coils to give better flavour.

My original m1 coil that came with the falcon tasted lovely, so I brought another packet of m1 coils and they just didn't taste the same. I have a few m2 coils left so will get one primed and give it another go.

But my experience is that same as yours, just tasted average.

The main problem is running it from a single battery mod, I found the tank the best I've ever tried, sadly had to giveaway mine as part of a review but ordered myself another with a batch of M2 coils.

Now why I say it's due to the high wattage on a single cell is I encountered the same problem today with the Ijoy Saber with Mesh coils which is a 20700 battery mod yet it didn't pack the flavour punch I expected, shoved it on my Smok Mag at 75 watts and BINGO - flavour production was way better, on the Saber single cell you could feel the battery pulsing trying to push out the power.

One last thing, have you got the 2ml TPD version? if so it's a total waste of time, 2ml capacity and you shouldn't vape below half the coil so the capacity in reality is 1ml.

On the 7ml version I deliberately tried to kill a coil as part of my review and let it run low on every fill sure enough it lasted less than a week before I got a burnt taste.
