how dangerous. ......

I must admit I'm still pretty gung-ho with laptops, phones, tablets etc.
My laptops are usually left plugged in all the time and I don't worry about charging my phone overnight etc.
Im not recommending this btw, just saying there is a fine line between sensible precaution and battery paranoia!
I think the ego with USB charger is often a less safe option than a separate battery and good quality charger.
Many egos use the ICR chemistry battery and are often charged in PC USB ports which can lead to problems.

I have to agree. All the horror photos I have seen online have been from egos. Hanging off plug sockets etc. There was one photo I saw where the e CIG was to blame. But the battery it self was fine. The wall and plug socket scorched and black.

Common sense tends to rule here. I rarely leave bats charging over night. And never when I go out. Even though Im using a l2 charger. Better safe than sorry. But to be fair. Never had a problem. Not even so much as a red hot battery.

Buy batteries from a recommended seller like tourchy.

how dangerous is it to give whisky to the Indians ? like yourself probably started on e-cigs, then went down the road of ego,s and the likes and electronic mods. don't get me wrong I still use electronic mods now(vamo v5 + innokin svd) but my favourite device is a nemesis mechanical mod. I like yourself was a bit cautous so I done some homework and done a lot of reading and research on this forum. helped me out no ends :)

Thanks for info
Some mods seems to suggest using unprotected batteries..... is this wise? Does it mKe things more dangerous for charging etc?

no they are actually safer strange as that sounds the icr protected batteries contain a lithium cobalt mix which can be volatile whereas the imr unprotected contain lithium manganese which react much better with each other hence them being known as safer chemistry lithium batteries.
they're not dangerous if handled properly as others have said use common sense don't leave them charging overnight, dont leave them unnatended, and don't try and do mental dripper builds unless you understand how amps work with regards to sub ohming

Bear in mind that electrical mods, such as the SVD or Vamo I saw you talking about on your other thread, have some in-built protection. Mechanical mods don't have as much, if any protection (I dunno, I don't use one) so you need to be more aware of battery specs using those. Unprotected is fine for SVD/Vamo.

It seems you may be confusing the 2 mod types but they are different beasts. Apologies if this is not the case.
