Greetings,
Thought I’d join up as I’ve been an active vaper for three or four years (not entirely sure when I started these days, it was never a turn-of-the-page situation for me, more of a transition between analogue and digital dependent on how much alcohol I had in my body at the time). I remember walking into One-Stop and seeing “BRAND NEW!” “Electronic Cigarettes!” and on the counter a small perspex enclosure holding e-lite starter kits. I was part of the cool krew at that time and though I purchased one to try I was very conscious of my peers commenting on me using this new thing that looked and acted almost but not quite entirely unlike a cigarette. I wasn’t entirely sure about it, the flavouring was incredibly weak and was nowhere near to my go-to pouch of rolling tobacco. After spending around £30 in two weeks on refill cartridges I found out about flavoured e-liquid online and from that point on I was vaping bananas.
The point where the penny dropped that this was my future of nicotine ingestion was when I took it into the bar that I worked; I’m a DJ so smoke breaks outside would only allow me 2-3 minutes, asking the doorman (who is a non-smoker) to hold my rollie whilst I dashed in to change the song over. I discovered the first dedicated vape shop walking out of Asda one day and upped my game to an ego clone with some brandless plastic BC tank that was recommended to me. In the mean time I started noticing more vapers in my day-job’s smoking area (my work now has a dedicated vaping area, much quicker to reach, no crossing the carpark!); some had egos, some had things much more exotic looking, pro-varis, lavatubes. At the time I wasn’t fussed about upgrading any more, my mind was more set on quitting over anything else.
There was this one guy, who is now a good friend, who has basically become the guy who drags me kicking and screaming into the present with this sort of thing (up until very recently I swore by my eleaf 30w/Atlantis combo, nightmares with trying to rebuild a subtank with my high blood pressure & shaky hands felt like trying to perform keyhole surgery, so I was feeling carto all the way), but he always had his way of twisting my arm, I think it was his smug grin…
I have a Koopor Plus with a Troll RDA bought in the last couple of months, I had the fishbone which I loved for a couple of weeks but it turns out that I can’t be trusted with glass… Now I can’t think of going back to disposable attys, rebuilding has even changed the rate at which I consume other substances, have never been able to concentrate on one thing for more than about ten minutes but this is already turning into a hobby.
I’m looking at temp controlling with stainless steel but it looks as though smok still have to play with this firmware quite a bit, and with the need to send the mod into a retailer I have a different plan for this metal box, but more on that later…
