Coming up to 3 years. Feels like a lifetime ago. @LordOdin I was in the same position as you. First few months were the hardest, but by month 6 I finally lost the urge.
Then I treated myself to a joint that first christmas day, and I had been looking forward to it for weeks. When I finally sparked it, I took a couple of drags and just ditched it. Didn't enjoy it at all. I was disappointed and glad at the same time.
January 2020 for me. The cravings have definitely receded over time but I still get taken by surprise sometimes - reaching for an ashtray and looking for my lighter are still quite common. I've thought about having a cigarette but I think it'll make me feel awful and sick so I don't think I'll try one.
Lockdown had a positive aspect - I wasn't tempted by other people smoking!
Getting immersed in vaping has been a really good diversion. I've enjoyed trying kit, coils and flavours and still plan to do a bit of mixing my own and perhaps some coils but I'm happy with where I am for now. I've also gone down to 6mg, I think I get better flavour but I'm probably vaping a bit more than I was. But it's all part of the journey and it's been a stress free one which is very important to me.
I never recorded my stop date but i duel fuelled for around 6 months, at a guess id say 2 and a half years to maybe 3, I don't have a very good concept of time.
