Hello

I have just got a 21500 battery of fogstar

But I need to charge it
But it shouldn't really fit in my 18000 charger but it does so I got it in there,or should I put it in my geekvape aegis and leave it overnight on charge plugged in with the lead that came with it

do you mean a 21700 battery ? what charger do you have ? most chargers that take 18650 batteries will also charge 21700 batteries as well .
charging in the charger is always preferable to charging in mod if your charger is capable of it .

Thats my charger, but on it it says 18650 is the highest number

And yeah 21700 battery sorry

My battery it Is sitting in it but not very good, but it is a red light so means it must be charging ??

new batteries can take anything from 3-4 hours for a first charge at 1amp
i dont know that charger so if it charges at 0.5 then it will take even longer.
some chargers have been around before the dawn of 21700 batteries so it could just be an old model and not have 21700 on the label.

ps
never leave a battery charging overnight.

The time it will take is dependant on the speed it charges at, the capacity of the battery and the current charge state of the battery.

Normally new batteries are provided with a partial charge so they don't die in storage.

If you have a 4,000mah battery and you charge at 1 Amp (1,000 mah per hour) it could take 4 hours if the battery is really low and 8 hours if you charge at 500mah .

As your battery will have some charge in it when you get it it will probably take less time than I have mentioned above.

If your old batteries charged pretty fast - it is probably because they were knackered and couldn't hold much capacity - as their capacity gradually diminishes with age and use.

Wherever possible use an external charger - if your current charger is slow, consider buying one that charges at a faster rate, or a spare battery so you can put it in the charger before your current battery dies so you always have a fully charged battery to swap out. If you charge a battery in advance charge time is never an issue.

Edit - I know this has been mentioned before, but DON'T charge batteries overnight, or when you aren't present.

as i said, NEVER charge overnight be it in a charger or mod. its just not worth the risk.

it depends on the charger and battery.

charging at 1a will charge 1000mah in 1 hour, so if its a 4200mah molicel battery it could be a little over 4 hours to fully charge.

at 0.5a it will be charging 500mah in 1 hour. and at 2a will be 2000mah in 1 hour.

the lower the charge rate the better it is for batteries overall lifespan. But as 0.5a takes to long, most including myself charge at 1a the majority of the time and use 2a if time is short.

Oh ok thank you
I have always charged my battery's overnight in that charger might be why my other battery's are knackered then lol

Try to get into the habit of charging only when you are present, put your charger on a heat proof surface (never on soft furnishings or on a carpet) and remove the batteries when they are fully charged - try not to leave them in the charger to keep them constantly fully charged as some chargers may constantly trickle charge which can damage the battery and be a fire risk.

Only charge in your mod via USB in an emergency (NEVER overnight when you are sleeping), try to use a dedicated battery charger whenever possible.
