You understand why we have to check, too many fannies out there with less clue than a deid rat and the brains of a tory voter.

You also know you should get a can of contact cleaner, Autosol metal polish, some microfibre cloths and a spare wee toothbrush? I'm happy to let the outsides of my Broadside and Endless's tarnish, but the threads and contacts get a good swab twice a week. Thon fugly shiny thing you want, you're going to need a lot of good wrist action keeping it up..to gleaming.....

Funny enough I get through Autosol and other metal polishes like no tomorrow - I also restore and rebuild this sort of thing

Provided all is there a strip down, clean in ultrasonic, polish, wax and reassemble can be around 8 - 12 hours
Once set up correctly they will run for 365 days on one wind with an accuracy of around plus or minus 10 seconds per week
